Recommend me some trance?

Some older members may remember these. Stumbled on an old React CD which led me to finding these on YouTube.
The Pablo Gargano track was played at midnight December 31st 1999 at a Dalston Street club - the event was called **** the millennium and I was there :)

Few tunes here reminded me of an old Trance album I remember buying as a kid mixed by Danny Rampling, I was only about 14/15...

I was quite big into trance up until about 2003 or so and used to frequent the usual gatecrasher, godskitchen, passion nights etc.

Still some good tunes about but not really evolved which is why I stopped following. I can pick a tune from 2005 and place it with a tune from 2015 and not hear much difference personally :(

1996 :)

I don't know about that, there is so much EDM-ified trance out there, which didn't exist in 2005, plus loads of sub-genres.

Funnily enough, if a genre 'evolves', purists complain, if it doesn't, then people say it's stagnating. Personally I think trance is more varied than ever, there is just so much more dross to cut through since producing became so easy.

You're right, I guess I was generalising about the styles of trance I like, sort of uplifting/euphoric stuff as we used to call it.

But I go from scene to scene, because everything becomes stagnent when you listen to it all of the time. I've always got time to listen to anything well produced though! :)

Also a massively valid point. New music is so fast paced, anyone and everyone is making tunes and because of how easy it is to distribute and get heard, especially in a big scene like trance, no new music gets the recognition it may well deserve... because everyone wants the newest latest greatest tune which will only see fame for a day lol :)

Yep, stuff like Carte Blanche and For An Angel could happily be played years after their release, but now playing something just a few months old gets you shunned, it's like no track has the opportunity to even become an anthem now.

^^ Wouldn't mind making that one :S Solarstone is usually good and quite liking Giuseppe and Photographers remixes lately.

Not a new one but this came up randomly on my playlist earlier and been on repeat for the afternoon:

Though the local file I have seems a bit different - more extended bass and a couple of extra melodic layers in places.

Goosebumptastic - from 3 mins. Probably one of the most nostalgic trance tunes as far as I'm concerned. Never fails to trigger some great memories.

Love this thread. So many good tunes... 40 going on 20.

Just found this thread!

I've just got back into trance lately, as I kinda stopped listening to it for a good few years.

Here is one of my songs of the year so far. :D:)
