Red Bull launch thread

I see.

But surely this "hidden tech" shall no longer be secret once testing starts, tomorrow...correct?

I understand that they want to hide their technologies, but they are only with-holding the pics of their car until testing begins tomorrow. Tomorrow, the internet shall be brimming with photos of the RBR, from all angles, with high levels of detail.

It doesnt make any sense to me. Perhaps someone can explain the secrecy to me?

The most obvious reason for this is so that they can create some intrigue and build up some hype for tomorrow's proper unveiling.

It's obviously going to have a K.I.T.T. glowing LED effect going on :p

Brilliant!!! :D

RBR's certainly looks more blended in than the Ferrari effort

Im praying to god there isnt a major advantage that McLaren havent worked out to having a snout nose
(as previously mentioned it would be impossible to change until next winter now)

A moving car is harder to photograph than a stationery one. :p

Having said that I doubt today's car will be the same spec that races in Australia. And that's likely to be the same scenario tomorrow, the final bits and pieces will be fitted during the last few days of the Barcelona test or Australia practice.

They're just paranoid of giving away ideas I guess or just playing games. :D

When do the main parts of the car get freighted to Aus , 1st week of March for race on the 16th?

Its been known for a few people to take a front wing as hand luggage to Euro races lol but I dont know about to Aus lol:)

I am sure mclaren must have considered it, was known for quite some time there would be some sort of snout (though maybe not as much as we can see on some of the cars). As smart as I am sure the mclaren guys are, there must have been a ''ohh ****'' moment when they realised everyone was using the snout.

Do you think they are worried :D

That makes it look like they've barely bothered with the step actually, looks more like a giant intake. :p

How would the airflow from that slot be diverted anyway? It's not like they can do a nice gradient slope inside, what with those pesky driver's legs in the way. Intriguing.

Just goes to show the ingenuity at work within the Red Bull team, everyone else has gone about trying to smooth out the step, shape it as aerodynamically as possible, treating it as a problem to work around... not Red Bull though, they've seen it as an opportunity to be exploited and popped an air intake in there!

Always did like the tyre test. Yeh was a good day that, was supposed to meet Fraker I think it was as well that day but, he was doing something else. Not seen him on here for ages
