The thing is, running 1080p on a 55” 4k tele makes the textures look like complete ass. If you like that low res look but the clear image then bravo, I want eye candy not PS3 looking textures on a big tv :p

This is why to me, things look nicer on a 27” 1440p monitor, less scaling needed and better PPI.

How can blacks be better? If anything my blacks are better than yours as you have the brightness set higher than 51? :p

And that's why I keep saying your TV is ****** :p You were/are happy with the 4k/checkerboard yet to me that looks like 720p. Either your scaling/aspect ratio or something is messed up if 1080P is looking as bad as what you are saying.
 
Really annoying. I just did a bounty mission. The guy I was supposed to capture gave me a sob story so I just walked away. Thought Id be a good guy... Then I get the game over screen:rolleyes:
The bounty even says thank you for letting him go!

It is that sort of thing that stops the game just shy of greatness for me. The game could have easily continued without me taking him in.

Agreed. There was a mission I was doing that didn't suit my bad guy attitude so I shot someone. Game over. Boo.
 
So there are plenty of guns I own yet when I go into a gunsmith only 1 or 2 say "owned" on them... Why is this? I know its not a massive issue but its just annoying me :p
 
Finally finished Chapter 1, doesn't half drag on....please say the open world starts now?

Can't fault the visuals, looks incredible on the One X....but I can't say it's been 'fun' yet.

Chapter 2 opens up the whole world yes! There is so much to explore - The 1st chapter is so scripted and strung out - But it does teach you all the basics of the game!
 
I give up on outfits. I spent ages getting 5 ready and all on my horse, but the game just ignores it and seems to have put 3 versions of the same outfit on there!
 
Wow the end of Chapter 3, magical.

Almost hundred hours in now, thats including a non stop 2 day binge no sleep on release. what a game this is. I'm moving through slow, the story has taken a backseat up till now. I've completed lots of challenges, got all my bars about 80% complete, gone after plenty of legendary fish and animals, but now it's time to get right into Chapter 4.

Don't take to much time in the West, move east before you burn yourself out on the dozens of things to do early game.

The digital Foundry article on hdr is quite enlightening There's so little on it... And apparently the mini map area has some of the highest concentrations. They suggest it could cause an issue with screen burn on oled tvs.
 
They need to fix the honor system, you lose honor even when someone attacks you unprovoked and you defend yourself. Bit silly.
 
I’m just in chapter 5 now, and have had consistently over £1,500 now (after upgrading everything in camp too)

Money becomes less of an issue further into the game.

I haven’t paid any bounties since my first one or two either. It’s just not worth the effort. Just gun down any bounty hunters that ambush you ! Or avoid them by going off road.

Over all I’m enjoying the game and story a lot. But like GTA, I won’t feel the need to replay it again anytime soon.

My god chapter 4 visually, I thought it was breathtaking out in the countryside, but visually in chapter 4 at night during a few early main story mission, holy sweet Lord how is this console doing this. Colour me I'm impressed, graphically it's just gone right off the charts in St Denis at night during these story missions.
