Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

Oh, it's that bad...? I'll be getting mine on Xmas day, had a quick blast on my brothers copy but didn't look at the online portion of the game.

There is a short video on IGN making the male and female characters each. They ran through each of the sliders and AT BEST, you look like a middle age homeless drug addict. Granted I don't expect people in that era to look well kept as the Beckhams but man, they had soap and scissors didn't they?

Considering you can make Arthur look like Antonio Banderas's older cousin (minus the tan) you'd have thought R* would've made the character creation for the online element a little more upmarket but, I guess it keeps in with the Wild West Lore as you are effectively a no-body/hillbilly at the start of the online so your appearance isn't likely to be warranting the finest Saint Denis suit or barber grade haircut...

I know what you mean but a large part of me think that for an online Multi player game, any online multi player game, especially one that has been in development for so long, the character creation seems far too basic. It would be nice to have the choice to create anyone from Supermodel to ugly Mofo should you choose to. The online element is never that serious anyway, GTA has show how wacky it can get and if RDR2 online stays that strict to the era or single player experience instead of “fun”, I don’t think many people will stick around. I was tempted to get this game for the online side given how much time I have put into GTA5 online but so far, I don’t think I will.

I've been fiddling with the HDR settings on my TV (KS7000) and console and game. Seems I've finally struck a balance. But the weapon wheel UI is too bright against the B/W background, can't read anything.

This game is well worth the purchase even to play the story once.

Is it working now if you have the standard version? I tried last night but the tab was available from the menu page but no option to start. I assume that this was because they rolled out for the ultimate versions first. Cant wait to have a play. :)

There is no point fiddling with your TV settings for HDR........ It doesn't matter what you do as the game is still not going to be rendered in HDR properly.

Just stick to SDR mode.

Turned HDR off pretty much straight away - on PS4 Pro, it just looked all washed out, the colour pops much more with it off.

Don't feel like I'm missing anything :)

Epic game though, kept me hooked all the way so far - around 68% complete.

RDR2 Online must have been a pretty bad storm :p

Just a heads up if your playing online on PS4 you can get a free Red Chestnut Arabian horse at the stables in Tumbleweed found right under the letter M

Well I guess last night was just to much for the servers, I got disconnected three times then gave up.
While it was all working fine during the day it was great fun, money is very hard to come by so every cent counts

Turkey feathers seem to be great $s for the minimal effort

I tried the online. Made a character and watched all the intro but there's so much disconnect for me when it's trying to tell a story and your character doesn't speak.

Also the loss in visual fidelity between the main game and online makes it feel a bit janky. Quit as soon as I took control of my crazy looking character :D

lol the online characters sure are ugly mofos

One of the reason I like GTA online is because i can dip in and out quickly. I have very little time for a long single player game these days and my back log is ridiculous.

single player is very much dip in and out. jump on do 1 mission save then turn off.

single player you could rattle through it quick but a lot of people are just taking their time to enjoy the world.
