Red Dead Redemption 2

Can you pick up any guns? Or just rare ones? I cant find any way to pick up the normal enemies guns.

I'm trying to get into this but finding it very slow so far.

Now and again you'll have the chance but tbh, you won't need too. You'll make enough money to buy most and mods plus you get some through missions.

Don't worry about the pace, it's a slow game but it really builds the story and it's really worth it. The best single-player game I think I've ever played.

im on chapter 3.. is there much re: player customisation and progression? thats one thing i find rdr2 lacks.. i feel like im just going through the mill.

You can customise hair and facial hair as well as his wardrobe. Horse and weapons too

The real customisation is online where you can build your character etc.

Just started working my way through story mode. Should I be saving up my money and items? Or donate and sell?

I saved mostly, spending money on guns/ammo as and when needed, you don't have to scrimp and save and there are other activities to raise money if you get stuck at any point. Donating money to beggars etc helps your rep, spent what I had on camp improvements early on as they help.

On the topic of customisation... I have around 4k atm, I went and bought all new guns etc... but still got 3.7k left. What on earth do I spend it on?

Think i had just under 7k by end game.

All the guns and customisations I could get. Other than horses and clothes I don't think there is much else.

Been avoiding missions for a while, just hunting and fishing mostly but then I got dragged into a random mission by mistake, but it ended up being really good, Arthur ends up having a very deep-and-meaningful conversation with this girl, about his childhood etc. so I took her to a show in St. Denis for the evening, the can-can, there was a fire-dancer, it was great. We have a lovely evening!

I have been playing this on PC since November and am on chapter 6 nearly finished and was wondering how do you see how many hours you have been playing? When I go to the Rockstar launcher it says 0 time.

I must say I am not enjoying playing online. Having to matchmake just to run a mission is daft. Let my anti-social *** play solo!

I agree I found the online disappointing. It's cool at first to start from scratch with nothing, but a few missions and some hunting later you'll have a couple of decent guns and a sub par horse and can get on, then you look at the level requirements for the top end horses and realise how much grind you'll need to do.

I tried a bit of the trader role but, I dunno.

I reckon if you have some mates that could regularly play with it would be a lot more fun.

Shame really the single play was truly awesome.

The key is definitely playing with friends, the missus and I have over 400 hours on online mode, its been awesome, basically like playing a wild west MMO, which is pretty much how we've played it.

I'm not sure what's wrong with me - I got bored senseless after a few days playing this on PS4. I loved GTAV but this game just feels like hard work and to me isn't enjoyable at all.
Have to agree, the "world" is beautiful but I think I played what 20 hours and I'm just bored, I loved RDR1 but I just can't face playing the game anymore. I just find the whole thing clunky. My nipper loves it though and she's played it through on story at least 3 times already. Me I log in and lose interest after 10 minutes. Much preferred GTA 5

Haven't touched the online yet. Is it any good?

I'm about 60% through the single player at the moment, so will give the online a go once finished.

I think that depends of you play the story or online first.

I played the story first, it was rich and pulled you in. Online seems empty in comparison. The world is the same, but your character doesn't speak, which I find really odd during cut scenes, it appears that all missions need to play with others, or at least try to.

First mission I matched with another new player. He was killed twice and then ran off with a horse while I was left fighting.

Hoping it gets better but I'm taking a break for now to play Division 2

Wife and I are giving it a try, it seems it's plagued with a tonne of bugs, not even past the intro mission and we both got stuck on the horse rename bug, I restarted the game and it worked. Not for her, she had all the stats showing as 'test1', restarted the game and she was left without a horse.

It's a total mess. What I also don't understand is how things like bounties are not shared? I picked one up but even though I had invited her to my game, she was there for nothing else other than to help shoot people.

On chapter 4 and yeah the game really is like a fine wine.
I'm getting strong witcher 3 vibes where part of me wants to finish the game but then i know when its finished i'll be like 'oh i wish i could re-do that again'.

the variation in what u do in quests is insane and a huge improvement on most games i've played which are open world. really impressive on what rockstar did.

It's the hidden things you find that really make it. Watching horses roll around. Someone sat and watched a coal train fill up over on reddit. Yes it has some bugs but the game world is one of, if not the most advanced I've played.

I reached the epilogue in just over 100 hours! The only criticism I have is the missions are very on-rails, but I understand they have to keep the narrative going.

The game is a work of art visually:

My son played it for a while on an i5 2500k + RX 570, and it ran fine at 1080p. Not at anything like max settings, obviously, but it still looked pretty good and put out perfectly playable frame-rates (can't remember the exact settings and it did take a bit of tinkering but he ended with a up fairly solid 60+fps, I think, most settings medium). If anything you should have a slightly better experience with your hardware.
