Red Dead Redemption 2

I stopped playing it when I decided to get a 4090. I'm now downloading it again to continue my journey but it's a bit painful downloading 120GB and then another 66GB on a 37Mbps connection... I'll wait!

I get about 27mpbs. Not looking forward to downloading my library when I finish my build.

Due to game sizes I have an old 4tb standard hard drive I move games too when not playing and move back to my nvme when I want to play again to save redownloading and I keep it linked in steam to keep updating.

I thought about doing something similar but I don't have enough physical space to fit a standard drive. I could put one in an enclosure and connect it when needed but usually when I'm done with a game I'm done and unlikely to reinstall it, except for this instance!

any links to recomended settings tutorials

last played it on a 1080ti, ive got a 3080 now so im going to play it again :D

DLSS on or off?

this guide seems good, he recomends dlss off but ive got it set to quality anyway
i was @140fps (12700k + 3080)
now im at 165fps+ vsync on so could be higher. i think it looks a tiny bit better than the preset too

I play with optimised settings like above but with DLDSR X1.78 and DLSS quality, Performance is roughly the same as 1440p native but as it downscaled from near 4k and then has a sharpness control you can adjust to match your preference the IQ imo is a good step up from native 1440p

Yeah I think that's made it look a little better too.

Great to know it lives up to its name!

It's without a doubt the best single player game I've played. That's why I've just started it again 2/3 years down the line.

I didn't like multiplayer. I was a bit gutted when the single player come to an end, you can still carry on but there's not much to do

Great to know. Can't wait to get stuck in.

They’re just so sluggish. Especially when your in a location with items and the slightest nudge moves you away from being able to select it.

Yeah its always been like this even when i did my first play through quite a few years ago. I'm about 30% into my second playthrough and it still feels horrible lol.

Horse riding is just as bad, slightest wrong turn and your horse does a 180 and goes all over the place.
