Red Dead Redemption 2

The way I see it, if Rockstar ever goes boobs up and you can't download the game from their launcher, then it's not going to run via any of the other platforms either (Epic or Steam or wherever) so I'd just get it from Rockstar themselves. At least they take 100% of the money then which is put towards GTA VI. :p

After the mess they made of GTAV online I will defo avoid buying from their launcher mate. Epic will do for me for this one, would get it from Steam but with it not coming straight on Steam it's pretty crappy.

Regardless of who you get it from, the game will fire up the the R* launcher.

Currently GTA is now a good 10 seconds slower launching the game from steam because of it.

RDR2 will be the same unfortunately.

Sorry I was talking about the state of the game online, cheating and the lack of effort made from RS to stop it, just one reason I won't purchase from the Launcher, I just don't like it personally.

Yet you're perfectly content to buy it from Epic, arguably the shadiest developer out there?

Yeah I use Epic, Steam, Origin and Uplay and all work fine for me. Couldn't care less about all the chatter about Epic, aslong as it does for me what I expect I will use it. It's like people who won't use sites like g2a because of it's so called "shady business" ,Never had a problem with over 1500 purchases. Other people's opinions on a platform or a website mean nothing to me, I go off my own experiences and I see nothing wrong with Epic personally. However to cover Rockstar Launcher, I really don't like it and that is because I have not had good experiences with it, would never buy a game from that place.

I think you have missed my point.
You have no choice.
The game will not run unless you have downloaded and installed the Rockstar Luncher. It will screen splash and then run in the background regardless of what platform you bought it from be it steam, GoG or Epic.

We are all stuck with it.

Without wanting to continue off topic, those two things are completely different. Although on the anti epic side of the fence myself I can accept that some people are happy to use it. But not g2a, there is no argument for supporting them and their kind.

I generally only have the Epic store for the FREE Games LOL ! No intention of buying anything from them. I'm sure millions of others do the same, STEAM will always dominate for the fact so many of us have so many games with them. I'm cool with other launchers thou its not a problem.

It's not coming to Steam in November though is it? says December for steam so who will be willing to wait a month just so they can use Steam?

Not me but I am sure quite a few people will as its only a month. I don't really see the point as it will still start up the Rockstar Launcher anyway so you don't really gain anything, you just make yourself wait a month longer than other people.

Me neither, I already bought from CDkeys, added to that Steam won't be the cheapest option either.

There is always the option to add a key on Steam for a game bought elsewhere, if I added my key on Nov 5th would Steam prevent me playing it?

I wouldnt think so because adding the game as a nonsteam game really simply adds a shortcut, so it will work fine. For example, I've added Borderlands 3 to my steam as a non-steam game.

Going to wait until the steam release, i'm in no rush to get it.

Considering its lackluster online mode when i last played it on PS4, I don't think i'm going to miss much until they start releasing more content.

Came across this video, for those that haven't played, or even those that have. There are some great tips:

Theres a lot of quality of life 'tips' in there, such as cleaning your weapons at a gunsmith as it's cheaper than buying oils and also setting your 'default' layout for weapons between horse and backpack at the gunsmith rather than do it manually each time you mount up.

I didn't know you could choose the direction of which you dismount your horse nor the ability to leash up your horse to trees so they don't get stolen. Also holding the whistle button if someone highjacks your horse causes it to buck off the thief. Many more.

Its for Preorder on the Epic store now at £54.99 for the standard game, £69.99 for Special edition and £79.99 for the Ultimate edition.

I hope our CDKeys orders are honoured as I am sure both Epic and R* must be a little ****** how they have been selling it so cheap... Just a thought.

The game is available to purchase on other stores, but it's much more expensive! I expect it will be the same case with Steam in December. I'm glad I snagged the special Edition for £42.99, because it's £69.99 on Epic!

So the 54.99 on rockstar was an actual saving then (as you get the Special edition for that price, not the Standard)
