Red Dead Redemption 2

Yes, the first part is not good, just done it again as auto saved after loosing the white arabian horse, it might re-sporn but?
Yeah I think its 3-4 days. First time I caught it a wolf spooked it before I claimed it and it ran off a cliff :( slept a few times then went back and it was there.

Just started the hunting mission with Hosea.

I can't get over how phenomenal this game can look.

The environments and lighting are photo real, on ultra/high settings at least. It looks like a well shot film.

Im still trying to find the sweet spot between eye candy and fps.

8700, 1080ti @ 3440x1440 and its running a steady 50ish fps. Still trying to tweak it though.

Hopefully digital foundry can help us all.

Where there any updates in the last 12 hours or so? Just woke up. Both the wife and I had inconsistent CTD's after a whole day of no crashes at all. I managed to get 3 hours in last night without any issues. But I really don't want to spend 30 mins through a mission only for it to crash and reset again.

Issues aside, I'm absolutely loving it, I'm really immersing my self in it, taking my time, getting my guns cleaned, setting up camp to cook and eat to keep my weight up, taking care of my horse etc. It's brilliant!

Yeah there was a 2.8GB patch late last night but nothing since then.

I came back on last night to check my game as I know how these can break things but fortunately I am OK.

Really hope that has not Kiboshed your game.

Bizarrely I've had the exact opposite today, I've had crashes (the 2001006 error) throughout my playtime so far in online mode but today I've gone 8 hours without a crash at all. Whatever they've done seems to have worked for me (in Online at least). Though the real test will probably be this evening when the servers are crammed again.

So far we've amassed the $200 to get a persistant posse and the large camp and have got another $180 today toward our next target which is the medium delivery wagon.

I am having the same issue when i hold shift and pan the camera but i dont get tearing as i have a gsync monitor..but it does judder some what.
i think its to do with the camera as its trying to stay steady with the other horses and attempting to fix a view but when you pan the camera it breaks that view.

Just switched to dx12 and it seems to have solved it.

Paying near 60quid for a game that I even launch near three days since release now absolute fraud

I feel for you, it must be enormously frustrating. Looking at my Played time, I've just passed 31 hours played so far, so on my £ per hour system I'm already past halfway on the return for 54.99.

Which I think just highlights one of the major issues with PC gaming, that Billy Joe can play a game on his hardware without major hiccups and Bobby Joe can literally have the slightest variation in hardware/software and encounter nothing but problems. I'd not want to be a PC game dev thats for sure!

I skipped into the video and the first thing I heard was @ 8:25 of him describing Long Shadows as shadows seen in the distance - face palm.

This is a setting also seen in GTA V which alters shadows according to the sunrise/sunset.
