Red Dead Redemption Thread

After reading a few posts here about the "Epic Ride into Mexico" I was quite looking forward to it so decided to stay up a bit later and put some more time into it...

What the hell was so epic and awesome about it - just like riding anywhere else only with a song in the background, song was quite good - but nothing epic about it...

Dissapointed :(

I thought it was awesome. Gave you a real feeling of the atmosphere.
 
Guess I missed that part some how. Got off the raft and I was free to do what I wanted. The way you guys talked about it I was half expecting some amzing set peice. Instead it was dead of night pouring down with rain and no music :(

Put me in Free Roam too - though the day was scortching hot and I got the music... just didn't give me the sense of atmosphere that others described.

Oh well! :)

I was using the browning gun that is located on the roof of my house in El Matadero. I gunned down everyone in sight and left a wreck of wagons,bodies and horses all over the village... Even though all this mess with just sitting there, other riders and wagons would just casually ride right past it all. wtf? So, I just killed everything that moved. Only took 10 minutes to get 300 kills (already had 200) because the AI would spawn everytime I killed the last bunch of riders and wagons.

I guess thats just how it was in the west.

I've just got to mexico, but now feel i should have spent more time on the mainland exploring.

anyone know what happens if your a bad cowboy? not a goodie ?

I found the ride into Mexico a total letdown too - someone said it was the "most cinematic moment in gaming ever". WTF? A rather boring traipse across some fairly barren land with a song playing in the background?!

SP. Its too easy to die in free roam. One or two hits and youre dead... plus in SP you can use medicine.

The ride into Mexico was one of the greatest moments in gaming for me. I don't know, I just really liked it. The epic raft battle then finally getting to land and then the music hits. It felt like real progression in the story.

Some people hate Metal Gear Solid and some people really love it. Its all about how the game bonds with you.
