Red Dead Redemption Thread

Quick question, I am on the Mexico part, I recall reading there are 3 areas/levels/sections etc to the map. Is number 3 top right of the map (I cannot recall visiting that area yet and have not bothered trying to ride there).

Cannot beat Liars Dice and I have been trying for days. I just want it beat for the Stranger mission I don't care much for the trophy but no matter how much I try to be honest and I loose. How can you be honest anyway when you have no idea what dice are under the other guys cup.
 
liars dice is so frikkin easy :p

Just play so that the A.I always ends up calling the bluff of the other A.I, you have to bet carefully and work out what the A.I has from their bets. Always remember how many dice are in the game when betting, saying 5 sixes at the start is fine, but saying when you are down to 8 dice total is suicide.

Aye it's easy for you. Maybe it's because I am more of a poker player and I have an indication of if I am a winner, because you can't tell if a guy is bluffing in Red Dead so you just go by what hand you have and it's a "do i feel lucky punk" moment" and most of the time the computer won't bluff. I just have not figured out Liars Dice yet but I will eventually :D
 
I found that if you say 4 of something in liars dice the npc will say 5 then they get called for bluffing, but it can be sometimes hard espically if you dont have 2 or more of the same dice .
 
GOD DAMMIT! :mad: was just watching a youtube video of the jose gonsalez track and glanced my eye down at a comment only to see the ending of the game spoiled for me in the first sentence >:-(

I've only just got to mexico and just wanted to hear the song again :(

Completed my missions, meh is my overall reviews, its as good as GTA 4 but GTA 4 had something, the whole game seems like filler, WW does not work in sandbox game, I know they made it due to RD on the xbox.
 
Loved the game right until the end.

the last set of missions are seriously mind numingly dull to do.

I can't believe they thought cattle herding would be fun.

I got the posse up and lvl 50 ones. :cool:

Just need the 20 missions with the same horse and 4 withs in a gang match.... plus all the co-op trophies.

Agreed. They were barely fun when you first get taught how to do them at MacFarlane's Ranch.

Still, the only alternative was a few cutscenes to illustrate the same thing so all is forgiven.

It's all about probability.

Let's say you have five dice - 1, 3, 3, 4, 6. You're playing against three players all with five dice left as well.

If someone bets three 3s, you know you already have 2. The expectation is that your opponents will have 1/6 * 15 = 2.5 3s. So in total, you expect that there's 4.5 3s on the table. In this case, you're safe to up the bet to four 3s, but five 3s might be stretching it.

Of course, if everyone is betting 3s then you can assume that everyone has an above average number of 3s (or is bluffing) and five 3s is a safe bet.
 
I'm really finding it hard to complete this game. Not because of the combat, but just because I might as well be doing the same mission 20 times half the time. I feel like I'm forced to use dead eye even though I don't like the idea because otherwise It's impossible to shoot anyone without getting shot yourself.

It's a good game, but doing random things it miles more fun then actually doing the story.
 
I've been playing for ages and I've just started using casual aiming instead of expert. For the hideouts its much more fun as it just locks on the push stick up a tiny bit and you can get headshots much easier. Still kinda feel I'm cheating though. Spose will be much easier or better with a mouse.
