How do you talk to other people in multiplayer?

I can join a posse with my friend but can't seem to be able to talk to him? Any help?
 
The first cougar was bit of a fluke - turned and knifed just at right moment then chased it for 2nd knifing to kill.

After that got killed a few times just trying again with knife only.

In the end used pistol with dead eye to shoot it just before it pounces, cougar then swerves away - chased after with knife for kill.
 
geez i still cant get the hang of this dual malarkie ....

how can the cpu player do a 1 shot and own you so quick!
 
Would anyone be able to help me out here? I'm starting to get really ****ed off with this game.

Going for 100% SP, then Multi for a Platinum.

Basically I need to win at Blackjack for one of the outfit challenges and for 100%. Playing it at Blackwater in the house you own. I know the basic rules so i've been putting the maximum bet (50$) but it seems that the game is literally taking forever and people are constantly loosing/winning chips. After about 40 minutes of going back and forth I just got so bored that I started playing stupidly and lost all my chips and the game. Now the game's finished and it's been loading with that bullet cylinder thing for about 10 minutes and it's still doing it while I type. I can hear my PS3 reading/working and nothings happening.

Seriously, WTF is wrong with this game now. Is this a common problem or has the game glitched or what?

Also any help on the Blackjack bit would be much appreciated.
 
From what i can remember just get more chips than u bought in with then quit the blackjack to win, so if the buy in was $30 you would have 300 chips so get 320 or something like that then quit, should be classed as a win.
 
My copy still hasnt arrived in the UK, I'm thinking its been ripped off now casue it was posted over a week ago from Jersey.
 
Playing this game has made me dust off and rewatch my deadwood dvd's and I also dusted off my poker chips tin and set up a poker night too :D :p

ive done about 4 missions in blackwater and i too am getting bored. Mexico was ok, but the start of the game was much better, now its becoming a chore doing tasks and missions. finding it hard to pick the game up, where was before i couldnt put it down.
 
think i spoke to soon, just been doing the odd extra missions for marstons family, makes a change from your typical shoot out :)

on last mission now i think.
 
Been enjoying the multiplayer on this a fair bit now, hardcore gang matches are so much fun when i realised that if you dont run you wont appear on the radar!. Hiding around corners with a shotgun has never been so much fun!!
 
The MP did nothing for me.

The most fun I've had with a MP game on a console was Metal Gear Online. I must have logged over 60 hours on that. I still think about going back to it but I'm sure by now everyone is too good for me.
 
An automatic title update (version 1.02) is now available for Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. You will be prompted to download the title update as soon as you sign into PSN or Xbox LIVE.

The main issues fixed by the title update are as follows:

- Improved connectivity to multiplayer for users with slower connections
- Improved reporting for Shootout and Gang Shootout games
- Fixed instance where Mo Van Barr would not appear as a bounty
- Fixed multiplayer titles not appearing for some users in the outfitter
- Fixed instance where lawmen stopped responding even though the player was wanted
- Fixed Issue with hogtied victims disappearing when ragdolled
- Fixed crash in Free Mode when cooking dynamite and going into the water
- Fixed audible glitch at the end of some cutscenes
- Fixed Solomon's Folly Action Area not ending after posse leader teleports in late
- Corrected Social Club 100% Tracker so stats update properly
- Various multiplayer issues addressed including load screen hang-ups and UI glitches
- Eliminated miscellaneous game crashes

Additionally, this update includes support for a new playlist by popular demand, Hardcore Free Roam supporting only expert aim. This playlist will be released once this title update has time to propagate on both consoles. We will update this post with the word as soon as that playlist is confirmed as functional.
