Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

I'm too scared to buy this because I doubt my PC would run it very well - after reading about people struggling with 6850's.

I only have an X4 965 and a 5850 1GB and 4GB Ram, which is good enough for most games - yet people are citing performance issues on even higher end hardware :(

Its not a mixture of them having weird combinations of hardware apparently, and probably a few lies etc, youll run it fine on high with shadows on medium, dont trust the performance some people are getting.

frame smoothing ON
Shadows on - medium - i lose like 40fps with shadows on higher than medium.

GTX570 - 60fps constant @ 1920x1200

btw whats that 10% mean??

runs like spuds on those settings on my 570gtx (+4gb ram, [email protected]) every other game works fine. Crysis, GTA4 with mods etc

Looks at frame rates... see's it dropping down to 19fps at most times, it isn't a lie and someone who has purchased it I can back it up. Tell me this, why is it they have a large performance tweaking thread if it's a lie?. It truelly is the worst performing game of this year, it's a good game but it has a lot of flaws and the performance is the biggest. If it runs top quality at high frames for you, well done

Also the developers have said that there is a problem with the game and cpu's, they are trying to fix it!
 
Any body have issue with ranking up? Under my profiles & achievements it says i have only 1 kill... and my weapon progression is not working? Any ideas?

Same thing at end of missions too, killed 5 people and it says 0 kills even though it shows up who i've killed and by how.

This sounds spot on to me. I noticed you have a Q6600 too, maybe its that that the game doesnt like.

Wish id have saved myself £20 to put towards BF3. Hopefully they will sort it out so I dont get 15fps in some places of the game.

The character models look poor too. The characters on DOD source look better (and in Arma2 look a lot better)

As has been stated previous times, its an issue with various servers and its something that TW is still working on to resolve, in the same light, a server that you might not get things saved and recorded others do, often it records the wrong thing, and people get up to lvl 71, or even get kills with weapons or tanks without actually ever using them - So for the moment they are broken for the most part.

Ah i see thanks for reply new to game, apart from that and the random crash/ and no sound every now and then the games great, it is good to see the ocuk server full most of them time.
 
I dont like that 1 life mode, where you take turns or something attacking something or other

The other one where you spawn every 10 seconds or so is better

Pavlov's House
-Added wall to block line of sight to one of the Allied tank spawns
-Allies now correctly get a forward spawn when capturing Zab's House
-German spawn protection was toned down to prevent Allied attackers in
inside of the Voyentorg from being killed by spawn protection when
objectives changed hands

Commissar's House
-Gave Allies 40 more reinforcements
-Default Allied spawn in more directly in line with Building 81
-Moved one of the initial Axis spawns back further from the Water Refinery
-Increased spawn protection and no artillery volumes for Allies
-Various cover fixes
 
one thing i am disappointed about is lack of destruction this is 2011 , and i know the ur3 engine is getting dated , but leathering hell out of a building with a tank or artillary , come on guys .....

I don't see a big problem with this on most maps if not all of them, after all it would only make them harder to balance if buildings can be destroyed. People can be killed inside of buildings from artillery or tank shells anyway.

Most buildings would end up being completely void of cover after minutes, and the objectives would be harder to attack or defend. Most vantage points would then become useless, which could make a huge difference, for example when a smoke grenade is used and people are pushing for an objective, there would be little chance of holding back a wave of players. Not that it wouldn't be more realistic, but it would not make the game as fun or tactical to play. Remember you are limited to a reasonably small area, and after a while would not have anything left, and there is only so far you can be pushed back.
 
Countdown mode is good, makes each life count.

Try it with voice comms in a squad ;)

Yeah, never been a fan of those modes in any game tbh ie S&D for CoD etc

I was in the OCUK mumble thing, but couldnt hear anyone.. was about 5 others in there. Not sure if they heard me swearing either :D

They said they tested this and the problem was, after a while, you were just left with 2 teams battling in a field.
