Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

Sinny did.

They can revoke the key.

I would suggest holding onto it for while.

It has only been out a week.

Gimpy, I don't think my processor is really good enough. It's an X4 965 overclocked to 3.8ghz, but compare the processor to a mid-range Intel 2500k, the difference in performance is staggering.

It might be worth me getting a refund on the basis of the current game bugs, even though I do technically like the game, just to not have wasted money on a game that will run like pants for me? Moral dilemma :P

The game is fine... I'm running it on a 4890 at max and it plays so well, stop moaning about the fact it crashes now and then

It's the games engine atm, which is exemplified by the fact it is heavily CPU bound - and a lot of people are running what they consider good cpus (eg X4 and X6 AMD) but aren't actually good cpus :P In cpu bound games, an intel 2500k can pull +50% performance over AMDs top of the range X6.

Is it possible to get my money back on this piece of crap?

I will buy again when they make it playable. 15fps in medium settings. no thanks

Everything else plays perfect

I know people running on a P4 and it is more than playable.

The issues are bugs, not relating to the lack of oomph from a certain CPU.

Fair enough, but AMD cpus are still a lot worse atm than intel :)

I have contacted Getgamesgo with a detailed request for a revoke of the steam key and a refund. Being a uk company, they won't be able to respond until tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes :P

I am running a PhenomII X3 - No issues and a Phenon II X4 - No issues.

Not saying you are not having problems as you have, but the CPU is not the problem.

Im running a E6300 C2D oc'd to 3.2ghz...poverty spec CPU and it loads maps slow, but other than that its running sweet, odd slow down, but its more FPS im lacking, even with a 6870 :(

In saying that, im getting around 30-40 FPS now, Beta 11.9cat drivers, and all game settings set to High apart from shadows on medium.

Fyi. Gamestation has Red Orchestra 2 for 19 quid i think it was and if you use the code that is in them just cause 2 topics you can get 4.99 off so would be like 15 ish.

Boxed version but you can add it to steam afaik.

All the talk of refunds makes me think of all the problems I (and many others)had with BF2/BF2142 and BFBC2, maybe I should have got one for them.

I wonder what Origin will be like for refunds.

/sarcasm

Hopefully BF3 won't be as problematic, as its just a reskin of BFBC2 ;)

/end sarcasm :)

EDIT - Heh, just downloaded a patch for BFBC2 fixing some pretty minor issues which have been about since close to release, at least Tripwire are a bit more on the ball.

Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately we would be unable to offer a refund on Red Orchestra 2, as this is a steam title. We state clearly that steam titles are non-refundable.If you're upset about the stability issues currently being experienced by some people, please bear in mind that Tripwire are working on resolving those, they've already stated that they're aware of the technical issues occurring due to the varied spread of hardware they're having to support.

Give them a chance, Yoshiro and the guys at Tripwire are worth persevering with!

Steam has just started to download a 218 mb patch, wonder what this is for?

Edit:
A required update for RO2 has been released. Changes include:

- Fixed a bug where all sound would sometimes cut out when the map changes
- Various crash fixes for server and client
- Client performance optimizations
- Single Player Fix - fixed "double music" playing when loading the game from a checkpoint
- Added the ability to enable webadmin through the commandline. This will allow you to override what is in the ini files, thus fixing up any issues with inis getting overwritten by updates. To enable webadmin via the commandline add EnableWebAdmin=True to the "?" separated commandline parameters. To set the webadmin port add WebAdminPort=<DesiredPort> to the "?" separated commandline parameters.

As usual it does not fix anything it doesn't say it fixes, nor will it make you more attractive to the opposite sex

As a heads up, we are continuing to work on the following:
- VOIP
- Stats
- Crashes
- Optimization
