Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

Well, I have written a long support request to Green Man Games, in a attempt to get a refund. Having been told that GMG do not refund Steam titles then seeing Sinny get a refund for exactly the same issues I have been getting, I feel very p*ssed off.

Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately we would be unable to offer a refund on Red Orchestra 2, as this is a steam title. We state clearly that steam titles are non-refundable.If you're upset about the stability issues currently being experienced by some people, please bear in mind that Tripwire are working on resolving those, they've already stated that they're aware of the technical issues occurring due to the varied spread of hardware they're having to support.

Give them a chance, Yoshiro and the guys at Tripwire are worth persevering with!

They've had since the beta ffs!, what the hell was the point of a beta

He's lying though, Sinny was refunded.

Here's my post anyway, still awaiting response;

Hello,

On the 13th of September I purchased Red Orchestra 2 from Green Man Gaming. After installing the game I found out that even though I greatly exceeded the recommended system requirements the game was;

Crashing on loading
Unplayable due to framerate and stuttering
Non-functioning server list (multiplayer unplayable due to this)
Graphical glitches (only occur in this game, no others)
Random crashing and error messages (only in this game)

I have just tried to play the game again and the exact same problems are still apparent a week after purchase.

The game is completely unplayable for me, and after being refused a refund a few days ago from your support and told to wait, I am requesting once again, for my Steam key to be revoked and a refund issued. I feel my refusal of a refund from GMG to be completely unjustified and unfair, and as I know I am completely within my rights to demand a refund, will be taking this issue further if the problem is not resolved swiftly.

fingers crossed we both get refund, this whole we don't give refund to steam games I though it was our legal right? Or is it if they state that they don't give refunds before we purchase it then its game over?

It's U.K law, if they could do this, every single company in the U.K would do it.

I added a note to my ticket;

I would also like to add that I have seen on various forums for Red Orchestra 2 that Green Man Games have issued refunds for those who are having similar problems with the game as to the ones I am having (crashing, unplayable framerates, server list problems, etc).

Having previously been told that Green Man Games do not issue Steam refunds by Rich Metcalfe, it appears I have been directly lied to about this.

Why is it that I cannot be issued a refund and other customers can?

Ive also requested one, have to update if any of us get it.

Tripwire forums are dev deserted now. Still no resolution on the ranked server rubbish. Really close to dropping hosting this. Don't see the point in supporting them when they cba to even respond to queries on their own support forum and mailing list.

Need to get a refund appeal, Tripwire need to tell retailers to accept refunds.

I already made a thread about it on the TWI forums, and it got locked instantly and I received a ban from the forum.

Man you guys are impatient! :p

No impatient just feel cheated will buy the game again once it has been sorted, its almost criminal releasing a game in this state what was point in beta? If its not ready don't sell it fix it and wait.

LOL harsh Bars%$*ds

All the talk of refunds makes me think of all the problems I (and many others)had with BF2/BF2142 and BFBC2, maybe I should have got one for them.

I wonder what Origin will be like for refunds.

/sarcasm

Hopefully BF3 won't be as problematic, as its just a reskin of BFBC2 ;)

/end sarcasm :)

EDIT - Heh, just downloaded a patch for BFBC2 fixing some pretty minor issues which have been about since close to release, at least Tripwire are a bit more on the ball.

So did BFBC2 crash to desktop regularly? have bleeding colours at the bottom (most likely due to Memory leaks), no visible servers to join? constant stuttering on faction/weapon choice for several minutes?

I mean I had BC2 at the start and they were not nearly as bad as RO2.

If you outline the problems you're having saying that the game is unplayable in it's current state, you gave it the benefit of the doubt I'd say you were well deserving of a refund.

I guess I just had a nice customer support rep who dealt with my request.

also if you didn't like the game and got a refund then fair do's, I don't think I would want to keep a game that I didn't like despite other people's opinions.
