Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

Would have probably bought this if they got it ready for release a few months back. Trying to save money at the moment and it's way too close to BF3.

Hopefully they do a demo on release to tempt all those on the fence.

Woo will be nice to have some properly new maps to try out, curious to see how they match up to the old RO1 favourites. Know Gumrak is new but well thats a tank map and I've barely had a chance to play it because of that.

Also got a replacement mouse today so its feet are super slidey compared to the old one, same model just forgot how smooth it is new. I imagine my aiming going to take a major hit till I adjust :( Shame since what I played in the last few days was perfect for me, free aim and iron sight movement (not just sensitivity) was great, something that a lot of games somehow get wrong these days.

First timeplaying i was managing to play in servers.

I loaded it up again after going out for a tea, and when i join a server im about to start playing when everyone freezes running on the spot, as if the servers crashed... but it happens on majority of servers....

any ideas?

The beta is open to anyone who pre-purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game on Steam, and for those who have pre-purchased the vanilla edition, they are also now selling a separate upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $9.99 USD.

Know bug which is being worked on, if its happening constantly you can either wait about 60seconds after the server browser starts pulling in servers then join or avoid refreshing the browser by joining via direct IP or friendslist.

Think you can also use the reconnect console command instead of waiting 60seconds though not sure.

Meh, kinda. Theyre adding three new maps so the gameplay is going to expand a lot. Is it worth the extra cash for 2 weeks of play? Kinda up to you.

Been accused of hacking at least 20 seperate times already. Sick life imo.

But seriously, shows the mindset of gamers currently. The game is in BETA for what, 3 days or so and already they're convinced that anyone doing well is hacking.

There is a hack out which is probably getting people extra paranoid, and you can't really spectate players properly atm. TWI updated everyone on hacking:

Take it as a complement ;)

So those playing what would you rate this out of 10?:p

8/10

Very immersive game, good music and graphics, feels a bit more fluid and responsive than RO1 but still maintaining the element of 'realism' some people like. It's certainly one I'll be playing on and off rather than getting totally bored as I predict will happen with BF3.
