Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

I still don't quite get you, if i press c (crouch) it happens, no fuss, maybe you are right, give it a real bash tonight, at least 10 hours lol and you'll be sorted.

I'm not sure if its hit registry problems or latency, buggy servers currently. But you also should keep in mind hitting a target does not = kill the target. Heart or Head is a one shot kill, others cause bleeding which can be bandaged.

Not true tbh, most hits on people are insta kills, or at least the target will die within about 2 seconds, especially with a bolt action rifle (obvious arm/some leg shots are not fatal and can be bandaged).

The movement also may feel "clunky" to someone who is used to mega sprinting while shooting in games like COD, but this is a very different beast. The movement has to be very deliberate, and you have to move and look at cover like a hard point you need to get up against before planning your next move.

I'd say the person playing that vid just isn't very good, you need to lead your targets AND account for bullet drop.

I was playing grain lift yesterday on territory mode, was up in the actual grain lift bit with a bolt action mosin, scored 67 kills in 1 round.

I'm really loving the game, to people saying there is something wrong with the running animations, not at all.

The running is quite distinctive between the Russians and the Germans, the Germans are quite pronounced and sprint with their weapon in 1 hand at their side, which is how they were taught to run with a weapon, it makes target acquisition at range a lot easier.

Also, the graphics are amazing, on ultra it's a beauty to behold, couple that with the first person cover system and very very satisfying weapons.

I think I'm going to be playing this even when BF3/beta comes out, it's very different and I like it for very different reasons.

Great vid, but why has nobody complained about the breathing yet?. It's annoying, I've had to keep still for archery before and you don't hear me sounding like i've got snot blocking my nose

The hitreg also looked terrible, how many shots did that german take before you both died

Right i noticed a lot of similar rigs here, whats your graphic settings and your average FPS as a whole, im trying to work out why im struggling to get past 20 fps let alone stay there

Make sure you're not forcing AA in your ati/nvidia control panel, since it'll combine with MLAA in game and shred your performance. After getting rid of the forced AA I gained around 10-15 fps.

I'm pretty much maxed on ultra and locked at 50-60fps. Some slowdowns on TE fallenheros due to the size and openness.

I've found ambient occlusion is a real FPS killer so have that turned off.

thinking of getting this but will it be dead as soon as BF3 comes out?

wait give it a month see how it does when beta on and when bf3 is launched if it survives that with still decent amount playing thwen maybe worth getting

at moment bug ridden . gunna take at least a month to get fixed and by that time a lot will be playing bf3 beta or just left the game.

thats why i am not touching it just yet.

You can't really call it bug ridden if you haven't even tried it lol, I've had maybe 2 crashes in 20+ hours.

Variety is great, why would people stop playing a good game they enjoy, I will be playing both games, two good fps games. A lot of people will play it for the ww2 setting and the differences to a modern shooter.

To blind fire xzibit you have to just go up to window or wall etc etc, press left ctrl and then just press and hold left mouse (fire) and it will do it.

I wouldn't say "bug ridden"

It is a beta, but in all the recent patches they have fixed a lot of the issues, so much so that I barely get any problems at all now.

Also to the person that wanted to know how to blind fire?

Stick onto some cover, move as close to the edge of it as possible without coming unstuck, then fire away.

people ive gamed with for years have played beta and have cancelled pre order and got money back as it is bug ridden. look on steam biggest threads are about how bug ridden it is.

one friend is still playing it but even though hes playing it he said dont buy it yet until its fixed. so until theres a demo or friends who are playing it as we speak then im out .

if u enjoy it good for you. wait till bf3 beta or main game is out then youll see if it can swim or sink also any bugs that are ingame should be sorted.

Yea, lotta bugs in it. Spawn bugs, cover bugs, bodyless weapons running around killing folk bugs...

Still great fun :)

On the subject of that, we had a floating MG nest gun running around the map last night, no idea who was manning it but whoever it was wasnt getting the kills recorded in the Tab menu, but was just slaughtering the whole axis side, quite funny just seeing the gun moving on its own lol.
