2027 you mean?

I think the problem with if it goes to Saudi is that Brits just won't have access to it as easily so less Brits will go, which means it becomes more of a global event. This is fine when money and audience is the priority above all else, but it will lose its sense of Britishness. It will just become "another major" kind of event. Comparing to golf (which we seem to do a lot with snooker but hey) you have the Masters which is always at Augusta don't you...due to the tradition and history. It makes it feel special.
Augusta has changed pretty much every year to stay relevant, as golf changed so has the course. The crucible is the same as it was 50 years ago, things have a changed a lot. The facilities need serious upgrades as does the crowd capacity.

Absolutely.
Yes it's dated. It's a difficult one. Lots to think about in a new venue. If you want a dedicated 5000 capacity snooker arena, what will it be for the other 11 months a year and still make financial sense? What about the people on the back/top rows when it gets that big? Screens to help see maybe. Do you want it massive with amazing hospitality and VIP booths etc, or intimate and steep, close seating like the crucible. Or a mixture...
It's a blank canvas if it goes to Saudi as money is not a limiting factor. It could become anything. They could build something extraordinary.

Sheffield is basically competing against unlimited money. That will always be hard, it has to sell the history whilst also improving the venue somewhat. I don't think anyone expects it to be liek it is in China for example but it could be better than it is.

One of the shots on the drago\judge match with the ball bouncing back out of the pocket, a piece of wood (possibly the side skirting) was poking through the pocket and blocked the ball. Never seen that before in decades of snooker.

Happens around 1:18:56 and some replays a few moments later.

Another one also you'd never think of doing that sort of thing! Llang was the real shocking one, just seemed a fairly unassuming Chinese fella then got done for beating a woman up in the street and match fixing!
