Relational issues...

When I say bad, I mean I certainly wouldn't suggest that people do it, much like I wouldn't suggest people start smoking, this is why I say they are bad.

I haven't had any personal "bad" experiences, nothing I wasn't expecting anyway, I am however in a bit of a rut and I regret ever starting.

Actually, scratch that, what I want to say is drugs aren't bad, addiction is.

Its unfortunate that something obviously happened in your years of taking drugs. I sort of understand where your coming from but i completley and fully 100% believe i've come out the other end a better and more well rounded person. I do think about stuff in a different manner but for the best part in a good way!

Sorry double post! doh!

Are you taking pro-drug side or anti? I can't tell from that post

Quit comparing alcohol to illegal drugs, the comparison is ****ing retarded.

Any moron can buy a buttload of booze, get trashed and end up in A&E having a stomach pump. It's legal, it's cheap and due to the way alcohol affects the body (impaired decisions, reduced inhibitions) it's easy to just keep buying it as it remains cheaply available.

Illegal drugs are far more underground, prohibitive in costs and tend to be done by people who have experience with the substances they're using and know how to not abuse them. They are less likely to end up in a hospital because they know the dosages that are safe and which aren't. If you are high as a kite, it's much more difficult to just ring your dealer and get more and if you're doing something that puts you in a state of intoxication you're less likely to want to go and source more.

The figures are meaningless regardless of whether or not they are expressed as proportions or percentages.

Thank you for writing that, my thoughts exactly, this is my response to this:

Your assumption would be incorrect, i have drank to excess many times before. And many of the times i have - the result has been as i previously described.

My mind is on other things right now but yea, what he said.

What you using frequently may i ask? K? I have a little problem with that like, thats why i've had to move home to stop being around it all as much.

When i say pro-drugs, I really mean let people choose not just completely against and not want to know anything about it. Coz thats what I am to, don't mind if your against it but not fussed if you do take it and enjoy yourself, thats what I've done :p

It's the combination of user and substance that determines the outcome.

K is like opiates, in that the 'journey' is introspective. There isn't much socialising going on with a bunch of people on K.

Other substances lend themselves more to chatting, laughing, etc, which were the ones I gravitated towards, it's probably why I never got in to weed. I'm not a fan of substances that mainly about being solo.

Meh weed is a social thing for me. I wouldn't really do it on my own, but did with my best mate. Chuck on some Family guy or the news and we are set for the night lol

Edit: don't forget the munchie food as well ;)

Haha, yeah pro drugs sounded a bit wierd! I knew what you meant tho.

I'm the same pal, i take drugs...if a mate wants to try it aswell i'll be the best help i can be etc etc...if he's not intrested then so be it! Each to thier own and all that! :)

Wow. There are some really ignorant people making sweeping ludicrious statements in this thread.

I am still waiting for someone with personal exposure to MDMA to come forward and state it is bad.

I will certainly come forward and give you my negative experiences....
Like I said previously, it can lead to being exposed to other substances, let me give you an example of a typical saturday night when I used to dabble (This was along time ago btw in my early twenties, i'm 34 now) 6pm my mates would come round and we would get stoned, 7-8pm we would go round town and get ****ed, 10-11pm we would start popping pills, speed or whatever, then go to a club, for the whole night we would also be drinking and smoking pot. 3-4am we would leave the club and go to somebody's house for further stoning session, probably with more alcohol. Then when it got to 7-8am the comedown would hit but you would still be wide awake and on a come down from hell... this would be when the wobbly eggs (sleeping pills)would be consumed to help you sleep. The next couple of days would be a haze of depression which was what eventually made me stop,as Krooton said erlier, it just catches up withyou as you get older. wow I have just re-read that and it makes me shudder just how I spent my weekends back then.
Also buying ilegal drugs exposes you to criminals and a general seedy side of some peoples lifestyles.

Psychologically. I really dislike it, as I have seen a few people go overboard and just spend weekend at home in their holes. :/

Thats really dependant on how much someone has taken it, i find it very difficult to hole now. It definatley is a psychological thing for me, i don't need it but i do enjoy it. I take it when i'm in clubs like! :o

Yeah this is a family forum...oops! Sry chiefs!

But it's not the substances' fault you went overboard, the same can happen with a variety of things. People should take responsibilities for the own actions, and those that can be responsible with something should not be stigmatised.

Only because they are illegal.

Yeh that can happen I suppose, but same with most drugs (including alcohol). Got some great footage of me an old roomie and a mate completely lost to the world. Roomie singing and moving my mates mouth to the song she was singing and me "trying" to dance to it. lol
