Resi 4 & Code Veronica remastered?

Hmm...Isn't there only one res remake? which is the first on the GC. There is CV X but that was more of adding some extras and letting wesker survive, rather than a remake.

Ha, I love coming into threads. Seeing something said, being about to respond but noticing its already been said by a few. I could count the remakes on 1 hand! Infact! I could count them on 1 finger :p

4 could have been great if they stuck to what it was like in this early version.

As awesome as this one would have been, it probably wouldn't fit into the Resident Evil universe. This seemed to venture way more into the paranormal/supernatural.

But hell, Capcom could at least used the ideas in this beta and made a new IP in that regard. I think Haunting Ground/Demento came out around this time too.

Hopefully the fact this is also coming to Xbox means that Capcom aren't just running the old PS2 versions through Sony's 'HD Classic's converter and then releasing whatever comes out...maybe they'll put some effort in and we'll get the definitive version of each.

That video fits far better in the Resident Evil universe than Resi 4/5 did.

realy excited about this, they should redo the first 4, id be happy for the rest of my life then, also be nice to play them with the pad they were made for in the first place,

Why CV and 4?

Why not 1 - CV a proper old skool Resident Evil pack.

Because CV and 4 were both rendered entirely in real time making a port pretty straight forward. Given 1 to 3's low resolution pre-rendered backgrounds it would take a lot of work to make them look half decent in HD.

What about 2 and 3 on the GC wasn't they remakes of the originals and Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil for the Wii?

Only RE 1 had the exclusive GameCube remake and was the only one.

2, 3 and Code Veronica were just ports to the system.

You then also had 0 and 4.

Archives was just the RE1 Remake re-released for the Wii.

Yup, it's coming out on the Xbox as far as I'm aware, already seen the news on some Xbox only sites.

Played through 1 and 2 on the PS then CV (DC) and 4 (PS2).

For me 4 was spot on. Better than anything before or after it imo. So for that I am pretty excited to see this re-done.

No it wouldn't. its supernatural. Resident evil is about bio weapons/hazards. That video suits silent hill better than it does resident evil. If a game came out looking like the old resident evil and with ghosts. It would be like taking a giant dump on the series. 4/5 holds closer ties to the original series. Just a change in game mechanics that doesn't disconnect a game from a universe. Its bio hazard remember.

Capcom’s just confirmed that both HD versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica will release in the west this fall for PS3 and 360.

More so, the titles will not come in a collection as it will do in Japan – as announced earlier this week – instead, they’ll launch as downloadable titles for Xbox Live and PSN.
The news is to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Resident Evil series this year, with the first title in the series – made famous by Shinji Mikami – releasing in 1996. It got a re-release earlier this week on the PlayStation Store.
Resident Evil 4 sees Leon Kennedy explore a Spanish village in order to find the kidnapped daughter of the US president whilst coming across cultists, mutants and mind-controlled villagers along the way.
Ada Wong’s Separate Ways epilogue will also be included.
Code Veronica has Claire Redfield captured and sent to Rockfort Island after investigating an Umbrella facility in Paris.
There’s comparison screens of Resident Evil 4 below.
