Resi 4 & Code Veronica remastered?

Surprised they're not giving Resi Evil 0 the HD treatment as well tbh, IIRC its only ever been released for the GC so I'm sure theres plenty that have yet to play it

EDIT: maybe it will come at a later stage along with an HD version of the GC version of Resi Evil.....

Why does resi 4 get such a bashing ? :) I thought it was pretty good and Ive enjoyed all of the resi series. The only downfall to 4 that I found was that it wasnt as suspenseful as the previous games, felt a little more action packed but I still really enjoyed it.

Just the shame the survival horror aspect it is pretty much gone. At least RE4 retains some of it compared to RE5 though.

Even so, I still enjoy the hell out of these games regardless.

Just read about the new Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City game being made by the PSP SOCOM developers. Now there's a game that will be bashed for straying away from the series entirely, but we'll just have to wait and see how well this does.

Anyone played the Resi Evil remake and Resi Evil 0 on the wii? Fancy playing both again but I don't have my GC anymore, how do they fair in terms of graphics compaired to the GC versions? Can they be played normally without the motion controls?

Before this thread it didn't

The only one that should get universal bashing IMO is Resi 5 - shambolic when I tried to play it was the word I used IIRC

Resi 5 was amazing to play in coop, but if you had no friends, it really suffers.

Hardly any different as they are just ports of the same games running on essentially the same hardware anyway. And yes, if you have a Gamecube or Classic controller, you can just use those.

I enjoyed resi 5 but I bought my bro a copy to co-op because split screen was so awful and I wanted to enjoy the game in fulll screen. 4 was miles better though. Yes it split from the resident evil game style but it was just awesome in its own right.

I bought the platinum version of Code Veronica for my ps2 many years ago and never finished it. Just about a year ago I dug out my ps2 with the RE: CV ancient game save from my memory card but I couldn't bear to finish it with those now awful graphics :D Might pick this one up if my eyes can bear it :p

Yes I agree, they need to remake RE2. I remember paying an eye watering £45 for the game :D

I can forgive what you have just said about camera angles, due to the fact that you are a Resi noob and joined the series after the best games had already came out. The way the camera was in the first three and CV adds so much to the immersion and fear factor, I never found it impeded me in combat, only added to the atmosphere of the game and of course in the PS1 days the pre-rendered background meant they could be much more detailed.
No, just no no no. This is a galactic lie! It's like you have deliberately trolled me :p

I've just played through the remake and RE0 and it is just a flat out lie that the camera angle does not impede combat. There are several rooms /places in both games whereby it is impossible to not get hit unless you know what is in the room already because when you enter the camera shot is basically a close up of your face, or just shows the door. As soon as you move, omnomnom zombie on your face.

It is soooo cheap to the point where it was actually irritating me in RE0. It's just lame.

Ugh not Resi 4, it doesn't need it and it was the mark of the series downfall.

I believe we have been here before :p

Totally disagree with anyone who says RE4 isn't great, because it's by so far away the best in the series it genuinely baffles me how anyone can say otherwise. It's like you are arguing that godfather part 3 is better than 2, or that Alien 3 is the best of the Alien series. Virtually every videogame review side in existance will back me up. Just, no! :p

And I say that playing through all the resident evil games before playing number 4. I also don't know how people can claim 4 didn't have scary / tense moments, there were plenty. I think people just want to hate resident evil 4 because it changed the series, regardless of whether that change was good or not. Anyone that prefers the old style of game should go and play through resident evil 0, which was the last true RE game, and come back and type with a straight face that it's better than RE4.

Code Veronica has not aged well. The amount of backtracking in that game is a joke! Find one item, run to the other side of the map. Get another item, run to the other side. Rinse and repeat for the entirity of the first disk. It's also by far away the least scary resident evil game IMO (excluding 5, which I will confess is pretty naff).

Would love a CG style overhaul of RE2, was probably the best RE game!

imo Resi 2 was the best having played the first 3 and CV on release time. Resi 1 was awesome, and finally being out in the city and in the Police department gave it such a buzz at the time.

Excellent Veronica only just loses out to RE2 as the best Resident Evil. I hope the rest are on the way :D.

I don't even remember CV anymore and I cleared this back on release, I remember it being a bit tricky at some points and that I enjoyed it.. but nothing comes to mind.

Was a long time ago I suppose.
