I can forgive what you have just said about camera angles, due to the fact that you are a Resi noob and joined the series after the best games had already came out. The way the camera was in the first three and CV adds so much to the immersion and fear factor, I never found it impeded me in combat, only added to the atmosphere of the game and of course in the PS1 days the pre-rendered background meant they could be much more detailed.
No, just no no no. This is a galactic lie! It's like you have deliberately trolled me
I've just played through the remake and RE0 and it is just a flat out lie that the camera angle does not impede combat. There are several rooms /places in both games whereby it is impossible to not get hit unless you know what is in the room already because when you enter the camera shot is basically a close up of your face, or just shows the door. As soon as you move, omnomnom zombie on your face.
It is soooo cheap to the point where it was actually irritating me in RE0. It's just lame.
Ugh not Resi 4, it doesn't need it and it was the mark of the series downfall.
I believe we have been here before
Totally disagree with anyone who says RE4 isn't great, because it's by so far away the best in the series it genuinely baffles me how anyone can say otherwise. It's like you are arguing that godfather part 3 is better than 2, or that Alien 3 is the best of the Alien series. Virtually every videogame review side in existance will back me up. Just, no!
And I say that playing through all the resident evil games before playing number 4. I also don't know how people can claim 4 didn't have scary / tense moments, there were plenty. I think people just want to hate resident evil 4 because it changed the series, regardless of whether that change was good or not. Anyone that prefers the old style of game should go and play through resident evil 0, which was the last true RE game, and come back and type with a straight face that it's better than RE4.
Code Veronica has not aged well. The amount of backtracking in that game is a joke! Find one item, run to the other side of the map. Get another item, run to the other side. Rinse and repeat for the entirity of the first disk. It's also by far away the least scary resident evil game IMO (excluding 5, which I will confess is pretty naff).
