both PS1 iirc (RE2 certainly is)

Since the PSOne Resident Evil games are on the U.S PSN store, and have been for so long, you could easily just make another account to access it, buy a U.S PSN card, and get them that way.

Yes, all PS3 models can play PSOne disc games.
