But yeah, I guess there are one or two instances in Resi 2 where it *may* hinder you, the bus at the beginning being one example, but I personally never found it to be that big a deal.
I haven't played through 2 recently, will have to give it a spin.
Two obvious bits in the remake which are just lame are the two areas with stairs near the save points. With the room with the loose doornob, unless you run immediately when you enter you will get hit because a zombie is right by the door - you can't see him because your character is in the way! In the other stairs room, there is a zombie upstairs at one end of the corridor and you can't see him because you are running towards the camera... only when you get to him does he make a noise / move and he instantly hits you. It's so goddamn cheap!
I have to confess that I haven't played the first Resident Evil game very much. When it originally came out I was too young to be any good at it, plus it scared me too much to play.
The original is terrifying at times, although I do remember having to turn number 2 off because I was so scared of Mr. X
Definitely get a gamecube to play it and zero, because they are good fun.
... actually, I must confess, I've been playing zero with the music low and the radio on because it's scary in the main mansion bit. I find the squiggly zombies really scary, probably the scariest enemy in all of the series, the music that happens when they appear gives me the creeps
I might get a Wii at some point but I dunno, can't be long until they bring a new console out. What the hell is a "squiggly zombie"?

It is yes, argh the evil music! I also like the commentary when she's fighting it, it's literally exactly what I said on that bit.... "FUUUUUUUUU get off!!!!"
Still... the most scary enemy I fought in RE was that leech thing from Resident Evil Outbreak, that was just plain evil.
Haha, odd you should say that because the squiggly zombies are officially 'leech zombies' and are made of leeches, perhaps they are the same baddies, I never played outbreak!
They should be banned, particuarly when they enter a room behind you
