Have you got this issue?

I am going to pin Draumo’s suggestion for the time being as it seems to help a lot of users with ASUS motherboards and/or those using Sonic Audio / Sound studio / Sonic Radar application.

My game was crashing on startup with a black window. I looked in the Windows Event Viewer and RE2 was crashing due to a file called "nahimicv3devprops2.dll" in my case. I opened my Task Manager and ended all the tasks with "Nahimic" in their name and the game started up just fine.

Apparantly the file is associated with the programs Sonic Studio and Sonic Radar which are associated with ASUS motherboards. I unistalled both those programs just in case since I use an external DAC anyways and not onboard audio.

Moral of the story: ending the tasks and getting rid of anything with "Nahimic" in the name fixed the game.
Based on the description provided, it appears the Sonic app is injecting itself into the audio stream or hooking into the audio driver to sniff out sound stage in order to identify the source and direction of the sound (i.e., enemy footsteps).

Hmm, interesting, i restarted my rig, and then it loaded fine, so not sure.

Like the demo, was saying i only had 3.93GB available, so i just ramped it all, and it runs, and looks great, started with Claire, and got chewed in the Store! :D

Btw, what is everyone putting the textures on ?, as i just went up to 1GB for now.

Just whacked textures up to 2GB, and still fine, just under 8GB used now though :p

Whats everyone got that setting that has On (+chromatic job), On, or Off, as i just went to On ?, not sure if the first On, + the Chromatic would be best.

Im using the HBAO+ too.

Pretty pathetic that AMD don't email once available, but at least they give out the date so its something (I'm only waiting for TD2 myself).

I got an email that my key was ready.

This email contains instructions to activate Resident Evil™ 2 for your AMD powered system.

  1. Enter your Steam username and password on the Steam account page. If you have not already set up an account or downloaded the app, you may do so at http://store.steampowered.com/
  2. In the MY REWARDS page on AMDRewards.com, click on the “REDEEM ON STEAM WITH YOUR ACCOUNT”.
  3. In the Steam POP UP WINDOW, enter in your username and password.
  4. Once finished, click on “ACTIVATE ON STEAM”, and the game will be added to your Steam Library.
  5. Enjoy.

Wonder why they changed the officers notepad.

In the one shot demo, for the medallions the notepad had drawings in, with arrows pointing at parts and you have to work the symbol order from there. Full game, the notepad just shows the statues with the right order under it. Wasn't exactly hard to work it out in the demo, so not sure why the change to just giving you the answer.

The reality is that it is actually hard to work out for people who love to be spoon fed, hipster journo's be complaing its too hard and can't have them scores being knocked down

Blast - I was naively hoping that AMD would simply e-mail game codes (as they did long ago when I got some AMD reward with my R9 290) :( The game doesn't appeal to me - but looks like there's no means of selling it/gifting it....

Whacked the textures up to 8GB, and still flying along, but when turning sometimes/looking aound, i get a quick hitch, so im thinking the 8s a bit too much, still, with a cap of 70, its just sitting there, and thats maxed out, 3440x1440, just the Blur and Noise off.

Might give it another go, with the Shadow Cache off, as im sure ive got that off in 7, and get no hitching in that, runs great maxed that, even @ 4k. :p
