Resident Evil 7!!!

Downloading the demo.. Haven't played Resi since PS1, character called Leon? in or near Raccoon City going into an abandoned Mansion or something..

Edit: wait hang on.. It's not Revelations is it.. bugger.

Woops! I'm ill, let me off haha.

Okay so at 2560x1080 the game does run better. But... The game is NOT 21:9 like I thought it was. This morning when I played, I thought it was 21:9 and that the edges were just surrounded in darkness as everything is dark... I was in the 2spooky4me mode then, so didn't realise it was just 16:9.

I definitely will not be buying it if there's no 21:9 support, official or otherwise.

Also, I've played through three times now, I've been told you find different stuff each time but have yet to find anything different? Like the locked gate door at the far end, or the plumbing "thing" in the bathroom :/

Runs great at 1440p on my GTX980.

Preordered it for £24. My lass should enjoy watching play this.

You get the valve for the bathroom pipe from the room behind the locked gate at the far end, you get the key for the far gate from the attic, you get into the attic by using the fuse in the first room, you get the fuse if you go through the small hole in the first room without watching the video cassette.

Will be giving this a go soon, played it on the PS4 PRO and with the higher res and HDR it looked sweet, hopefully the PC at 21:9 at 1440p will be a better experience but by the above it looks like I'll be getting it on the PS4.

Not played the demo, just messed with the graphics settings in the first room and there is one setting that makes a huge difference in FPS. Ambient Occlusion!

As usual the first thing I do in a game, set resolution to 3840x2160 and put everything on max and turn off Depth of Field and Motion Blur. This got me around 28fps average in the room you start the demo. Then changed Ambient Occlusion and I went from 28fps average to around 66fps changing from HBAO+ to SSAO. That is like over 100% improvement!

Need to do more testing but it seems I may be able to play the game 60fps locked on release at 4k :D

Ran better than I expected given it's a demo and hopefully with a driver release and updates/full launch, things will improve slightly further. Whilst it looks 'good' given the enclosed environment, you would expect it to look better. Maxed out I also got the fps drops mentioned, the lowest being 62 at 1440p. FPS seemed to fluctuate heavily. I found keyboard and mouse controls to be fine. The inventory system seems slightly limited as does the interaction with objects around you. Being able to open the right hand drawer of a cabinet but not the left hand drawer for instance kills immersion. The same applies with having a large 'f' over what you can interact with by default. The objects and setting around you feels slightly dead/numb. Classic res evil style (not shining/glimmering right in front of you though), however it doesn't suit the first person style so well.

More than anything, it reminded me of Alien Isolation but in a house of horrors - no bad thing.

Is there a handgun available, only found ammo on my first play through?

Ah tired playing it but it crashes after the intro video, seems my poor Q6600 doesn't support SEE4.1 or something. If I cared enough about the game, I could upgrade to a Q9000 series CPU that would work.

Shame, I was getting really good FPS in the menus and in the video, better then Deathwing by miles. lol

Plan on upgrading my PC this year, so will have to wait.

Lets just say I pooped myself :D Man I love this game.
