Would have finished it by now, but been busy. I think I am very close to the end now though :)

Thus far I can say I agree with the 9/10 scores, but still won’t make it too high up my list of RE games as I prefer the original’s formula better and enjoy them more.

Just finished myself. For me it took a little under 12 hours and steam had close to 18, though I had paused a few times for long periods of time.

I missed a few things like the grave stone, did not find where it went and did not want to google it.

Overall as I said before, will give it a 9 out of 10. Had a lot of fun. There were some weak areas, like I actually did not enjoy the 2nd and 3rd boss. Loved the first boss and and the area though.

It was indeed interesting how it ended. I liked the way they linked it all up.

Now that I have completed it, I can say it did better then I predicted and slots in above RE3 Remake. I still think I prefer Resident Evil 0 over it however, even though that is the weakest of the original games.

1- Resident Evil Remake
2- Resident Evil 2
3- Resident Evil: Code Veronica
4- Resident Evil
5- Resident Evil 3
6- Resident Evil 2 Remake
7- Resident Evil 0
8- Resident Evil Village
9- Resident Evil 3 Remake
10- Resident Evil 4
11- Resident Evil 7
12- Resident Evil 5
13- Resident Evil: Revelations
14- Resident Evil: Revelations 2
15- Resident Evil 6

I get the feeling that the RE4 Remake may be able to take 7th spot. Can’t see it going any higher than that though.

I know you like to replay the games, whereas i no longer do, therefore i googled the slab puzzle just before i left the village area as i didn't want to miss it. It wasn't difficult and all you missed out on was a big baddie (not a Boss) and teh reward was a high value treasure item ie more Lei.

Did you find Otto the Cannibal boss fight though? ;)

I'm surprised you didn't rate house benevento boss though. I sometimes grow tired of the unleash your firepower type of boss - no weapons, tight corridors = critical thinking of how do you defeat this boss and therefore creates tension. You don't get that tension if you are armed to the teeth with a grenade launcher and a Magnum!

Ethans wondrous healing fluid can reattach his severed right hand yet no matter how much he pours on his injured left hand with the missing fingers, no effect?

Yeah I found him, I enjoyed that fight. Used loads of mines on him :)

With the benevento area all I enjoyed was the puzzles. Otherwise it was the type of creepy I do not like, which is probably why I did not enjoy it.

The other thing I may have missed is getting more fish as I did not have enough to complete all the meals, had two meals left to do before game finished.

Good news with this game is I look forward to playing it again maybe in a years time, never felt that way about RE7. I specifically disliked the ship part.

The lycan ate his fingers, his hand was chopped off so he just picked it up and attached it again. Can't do that with his fingers when it's been eaten :p

I was unaware that you could make recipes with the meat, just noticed the 4th option in the merchant offers, I have just been selling the meat. doh. One for the next playthrough.

Yeah, about halfway through the game it shows up as an extra option when selling to the duke. It is how you increase your health, take less damage from bosses or move faster etc.

It actually may have showed up after kill the first boss actually as I recall.

That probably would have with the fight I have just had in Otto's Mill but there was meat to collect afterwards so maybe that will get a recipe or two.

Yeah, there was loads of meat in there (relative to other places). I enjoyed that fight and then finding all the loot in that location.

Turns out that the meat is useful if you have collected the rest of it it through the game. The more I look about the more side stuff I seem to have missed, annoying that.

Perfect for a second play through ;)

On a separate note, one of the things I always end up doing is saving the magnum gun and ammo until the end. This time I actually never got to use it as what I did was used all my handgun, then shotgun ammo on the last boss which ended up doing the job. What’s funny is I spend a lot of money upgrading the magnum gun to then never use it. There was hardly any ammo for it anyway as I recall. Don’t remember if you could craft them, I had like maybe 15 rounds? So yeah makes you want to save it for a tough spot.

The last time you meet Duke he hints that maybe you should spend that money! Hinting that you are near the end.

I upgraded, crafted everything etc at that point and used my magnum and nade launcher as I knew we were nearing the end and didn't need to be as careful with ammo.

Just found a couple of 'secret' areas with lots of stuff and also learnt that treasures can be combined to make them more valuable not that I really need the cash.
