Quite a bit, actually. If you look on an auction site there are plenty of people selling MMORPG accounts for £200+ and large amounts of money for similar amounts. I don't know if it's enough to live on though. Depends how leet you are I suppose.

The OP has some serious issues if he just wants to wither away playing games all day. If you give up your job and life just to play RPGs, I will lose all possible respect for you.

Can you really earn £60k doing IT 2/3rd line support? I'm just reminded of someone else who posted recently whose name I forget, whose posts weren't entirely believable.

For a major companies, especially financial organisations around London, then yes.

lol to be honest if you (him I mean) don't think you're very well paid earning 60k then you need a heavy dose of reality. Most people would kill for that kind of wage each year... me included. That's a lot of disposable income provided you don't have a nasty drug habit or gambling addiction... enough to raise a large family in comfort. :eek:

Me wonders if this "quitting job to play MMORPG's" is a sign of something a tad deeper than simply wanting to play games.

Imagine how his health would suffer... it's well-known that heavy PC gamers (especially MMORPG'ers) often eat irregularly or often not at all, and suffer sleep deprivation due to the long hours playing. Imagine how that would affect his health long-term, especially if he knew he had no work or responsibilities to go to in the morning? It's not good, it puts him at severe risk from RSI due to constantly sitting in a chair hunched over a desk with poor posture, repeatedly ckicking and tapping away, bad eyesight, and weight-loss. It's an unhealthy obsession.

Just something to ponder.

I'm a gamer myself dude, but I think you'll find that games aren't nearly as much fun when they ARE your job rather than just a relief from your job!

Seriously, if you do that you'll get bored of them pretty quickly. You won't stop playing them (cause you'll be addicted) but you WILL stop enjoying them. Am I right in assuming that you're pretty unhappy with your job atm? Maybe a change to a less stressful job that won't want to make you retreat from the world and live on the internet and also allows you more time for your hobbies is the answer.
