Retro console and games thread

Excellent thread - still got my SNES but that's all in terms of retro kit.
Not seen any pics of Neo Geo or 3DO in this thread. Did anyone ever own either of those or were they mythical machines of legend? :)

I was always a console kiddie back in the day and rarely played games on any home computer. Bought an Amiga 500 with a "couple" of games for £20 off a mate from work today though (I'm too impulsive >.<), had to get another mate to drive me home because of this system (3 boxes in whole and yeah, the system box is massive O.O). A lot of the games are copies but a fair few of the gems are originals as well from the looks of it.

Thats worth a lot more then 20 I think :)

My SNES and other Ninty offerings - goes right up to the current with a DS - Shall be adding a Wii to the list in the coming months (hopefully)

Yes yes some of the items have seen better days - ie the GameBoy - the screen cover came of YEARS back :o

Still its got its original boxing and a few games also do - along with the SNES having its original packaging etc :)

Man your a Nintendo lover. (Me to) How did you stop your Snes from going orangey brown. Mine looks like it's been in a home of heavy smokers. lol

The Snes has been in its box now for years :o

Before that though it sat under some tables in the living room and often got left there for months which led to it having plant leaves all over it that left dodgy marks - i just wiped them clean though so it looks a tad better :p

My mum does smoke but outdoors 98% of the time so i dunno ... its just been treated nicely i guess

I have too much to photograph really...a NES with about 15 games, two SNES's with 60+ games (including Zelda, Secret of Mana, Terranigma, Super Probotector, Tetris Attack, Yoshi's Island...) and a variety of controllers and joysticks, N64 with 50ish games and a Gamecube with about 30 games. Virtually everything is complete with manuals, boxes etc. I do feel lucky...the only thing is, I don't spend much time playing games any more...I think I've only done about 10 hours on Zelda, The Wind Waker...I need a year out at some point just to play games!

Oh, I also have an Amstrad CPC 6128 too, with hundreds of games...

the sega multi mega is my rarest console picked it up for 65 pounds not long after the saturn came out.

oh btw you can get adaptors for the game gear that let you plug master system carts into it got one lying about somewhere :)

for some reason quite a few years back i made a make shift lead to connect my saturn to the gamegear tv tuner and started playing wipeout on the gamegear screen it looked well sweet :P

A thing of...well ugliness! but damn it was a great console, had the best version of need for speed ever. Pity the conversion of Doom was a joke, everyone was waiting for it since the 3do release...such disapointment :(

Back in the late 80's and early 90's I really wanted one of these 'exotic' consoles like the 3DO and the Neo-Geo. When I see one of them now I still want one!

Still a good console if you ask me! I remember my mate buying one of them when they first came out - paid about £450 for it I think  :D . It's still good for a laugh, every now and again a load of go round his place and we have a game of "Twisted - The Game Show" (I think the 3DO is the only console it came out on)!

13 pages and I didn't notice a single NEO GEO!?

I posted a neo geo on the first page if you go back and look. I also linked to an image of one on wikipedia though the image seems to have gone down now so i'll look for a update.
