Retro console and games thread

Felt a bit down after losing out on that awesome Neo Geo ebay auction, so decided to treat myself.

Had a love hate relationship with this thing in the arcades, brilliant to play, but you played on a timer so that damn game just ate credits!

But 1 of the joys of owning it is, I can play around with the bios settings, 30min play on 1 credit :D.

Met up with some friends for a stag do this weekend just gone, when I arrived a mate said "oh I have something in the car for you...."

Turns out it was this :D :D

All for free? Awesome bundle, I used to love my Lynx. Todds Adventures in Slime World, RoadBlasters and California Games were my favourite.

Not really a sports game person, but I do remember playing No.2 in the arcade, maybe a pub or 2 when I was out with the family :p.

1 & 2 are a bit flakey, especially no.1. Have to move it around in the slot to get it to work, but looking at the contacts, I think it just needs a clean.

So after modifying one of my SNES units to play games from all regions, one of the short comings was that I could only play Japanese and PAL carts due to them being the same physical shape.

So i had a second unit which i decided to take one step further, so i fitted another SuperCIC and this time went about modifying the cart slot. I managed to source a slot cover from a US machine and went about making the bugger fit. After a lot of cutting it fitted. It looks quite good if i do say so myself and i tried to keep it original looking as possible.

Effectively this is a universal SNES :D
