Great work with the snes mod, I had the same thing done to mine last year, but I paid someone who advertised modding on Facebook, don't have the skill to do it myself

Wow that snes bings back memories , still got it at my mums in a cupboard somewhere , the big eject button was like you was ejecting a pilot out of a plane haha what a console!

It's also beautifully crisp, off-white SNES colour plastic. No yellowing in sight.

It's lovely. Very envious would love a SNES again.

I've got one, but the thing is, they look crap on modern TVs. I get much better picture quality through SNES9X. Ideally I'd like to get a Sony Trinitron CRT but I really don't want more clutter in the house!

My cartridge slot on the SNES seems to be going west as well - have to re-insert games several times to get them to work.

BTW Neil, that pic of all the Dizzy games gives me tears of joy.

So gutted I got rid of my CPC464. I'm tempted to turn my spare room into a retro gaming room tbh but am trying to resist!

For any LCD HDTV's you ideally need a XRGB-Mini Framemeister which upscales and processes the video from the old console to crisp lovelly 720/1080p. Can cost from £170-300+ but all the reviews rave about what they can do and virtually lag free input.

Look what I just purchased for the Amstrad CPC 6128, also works on other systems too!

HE10 34 pins floppy connector :
Shugart compatible mode supported.

Tested on PC, Atari ST, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Thomson, MSX, ZX Spectrum series computers.
Two floppy disk drives emulation

SD Card up to 2GB.
SDHC Card supported up to 32GB.

Already got a 4GB SDHC, so I can't wait to play over 2000 games in DISK format from the SD card!

I spent a few hours cleaning each of my game carts following some guidelines I found from some googling, some games used to take a fair few goes to work, now they work first time every time, definitely worth doing.

Thanks for the comments guys. It was it was a lot of work to get it to fit but it turned out ok in the end. It just makes the machine much better being able to use all carts now. It is in really great condition.

Funny thing is it will probably end up on eBay as i have my USA mini Snes. No real need for 2 snes's lol. I did it just to see if i could

For people having trouble with carts not starting, i recommend getting a Gamebit tool to open the carts. They are worth every penny!

For cart cleaning, I've been recommended DeoxIT D5.
I have some because 1 of my Superside kicks is a bit dodgy on how it wants to work. Not got round to cleaning it yet though

Uh-oh, I swear when I started the Snes collection I never planned on getting any more retro consoles but...

Couldn't resist the price or the fact it was all boxed, I have a list of 10 or so games I will try and hunt down then I am done, still chasing 4 or 5 snes games but they are just more than I am willing to pay.

Picked up some cotton buds on the way home, so thought I'd give this DeoxIT D5 a try.
Cleaned up the cart that was giving me trouble, tried it a good 5+ times and worked 100%.

Argh I'm going OCD with disc condition now, why is it so hard to find PS1 games in nice minty condition. All my Dreamcast/PC/CD/DVD stuff is immaculate and like new but PS1 black crappy discs even get scratches when cleaning them with a glasses cloth :mad:

I just bought a 'like new' Metal Gear Solid from eBay and disc 1 is covered with marks finger prints and scratches

Sadly some people never looked after their discs like I did back in the day, case to console and back again how hard is that?!
