I think I'm selling up... I love my consoles but recently I've just been sat looking at the space they take and thinking about putting a desk there and focusing on studying something.

Can some of the hardcore collectors give me some good places to sell/get good prices please as I think I'll need a few thousand ££££ to take a uni course. :o

You can sell your items on this forum in the members market.

I think selling anywhere on the high street, if you can find anywhere, isn't going to get you the best prices.

There's' always eBay, but there's a lot of competition and a lot of unscrupulous buyers who rip you off by claiming items got lost in the post or not as described.

I suppose it depends what you've got.

This lot was waiting for me when i got home today. Really pleased to finally own Japanese copies of Bare Knuckle 1&2. They are complete and are in lovely condition. I absolutely adore Japanese Mega Drive box art. Bare Knuckle 2 is especially funny considering the Creepy Arnold Schwarzenegger MR.X in the background and Jean Claude Van Damn Axel. Just Bare Knuckle 3 to get now but i will play the waiting game for that as it fetches a nice price.

them two games are streets of rage (well they look a hell of a lot like them), i absolutely loved them.

i think i have a NES somewhere. mcdonalds boys, cool game.

This really winds me up (sorry)

Hah, no problem, I thought I had spelt the name wrong. I gather your referring to "the"! I noticed when I search that's not what its called.

Learn something every day, Always just called it that since I was young!

Now if I owned the game maybe I would have known this. Sounds like another reason to getg collecting.[/QUOTE]

similar to people calling "HomeBargains" "home and bargain"

Picked this up yesterday at a new local 2nd hand shop, he thought it was just a cd player until "some kid" asked how much the games machine was, didnt come with anything else but he says he has loads of boxes to go through so will keep a look out for me and keep any game stuff so hopefully more hidden consoles i can add to the collection:

Can anyone recommend a multi scart adapter. It seems that only one of the 2 scart sockets on my B&O TV is working so I'm looking at using a multi scart adapter to connect my consoles.

At the moment I have a Mega Drive with an RGB Scart/Stereo cable connection and a Playstation 1 with a third part scart lead.

Would there be any point buying a better scart lead for the Playstation? I have 2 PS1's, one is he so called audiophile version and one of the later ones with just the AV multi out.
Thanks.

The Hama is a good one from what I have read around on the net, I just ordered one and I'm awaiting delivery so I can't comment first hand but it seems like the best one thats still easily available.

Well the wait is finally over, I have been after this game for years and years. I completed it on an emulator back in 2000 and nearly got the cart around 2004/5 but wasn't really into retro games until more recently. Pardon the pun but I finally pulled the trigger for Chrono Trigger!!!!!!!!!!!

It is boxed and complete with original registration card, mint condition posters, full colour manual and a cart that looks like it is brand new. The box is nice and sturdy but has signs of wear, but overall I'm very pleased. This sure beats playing the crappy iOS version that I have on my iPad.

Not taking chances playing an epic PRG with a 20 year old battery for my save games, I installed a battery holder and a new CR2032 battery :)

Now equipped with a fresh battery to look after my saves, lets rock!

Holy hell!

How much that set you back? Been after it for ages, but the prices for just the cart alone on Ebay are bit out of my budget range at the moment.

Never even played it on an emulator, shame I can't read Japanese, because they practically giving away that version. :p

Congrats on the pickup Larrs888. An absolute treasure of a game. You could class that as an investment as i can only imagine the price will continue to rise.

Well it is the most I have ever spent on a single game but since I have been getting in to Neo Geo scene I have sadly, I suppose acclimatised to inflated prices for games. Chrono Trigger has been going up and up and up, I saw it at a "decent" price and had to jump on it. I'm really pleased to finally have it as the longer I leave it the more it will end up costing. I would have liked to box to be a little less worn around the edges but for the price and completeness I'm happy, the cartridge looks practically brand new.

I doubt I'll ever end up selling this as it is my all time No.1 game, nice to know though that I'm not likely to lose money and I can always make some on eBay if I were to sell it, even right now.

Again congrats on the purchase.

But damn you, I'm looking through the American ebay site now, see if I can pick up just the cart, since I'll only be sticking it in a UGC :p

Many thanks guys, sorry to get you tempted ha ha :) I was lucky to source mine from within the UK. I have been stung before getting a boxed SNES game from the US, the shipping and import tax make it not worth it. I'm up to 10 CiB US SNES games now, only a few more of my favourites left to get since I don't want a big collection just the ones I really enjoy playing.

I do pick up the odd super famicom loose cart though, a cheaper means of playing the 60Hz version of the games I like legitimately. Sadly a lot of people have the same idea so prices are rising. The Japanese version of Super Metriod is the same ROM as the US version and is all in English!

I came across these the other day, they seem really good for lose cart collectors, better than the universal game cases I reckon:
