Retro console and games thread

Are there any guides online you are using? Are you just building this from scratch? I ask because I wonder how you know what bits and bobs you need exactly.

Also does the cabinet itself have holes drilled in for mobos etc? Or do you have to do that yourself?

its all down to research - if spend a bit a time on google you can easily figure out all the components you need. THeres hundreds of forums out there that talk about this stuff and youtube channels.

I know 1 or 2 people wanted an opinion on this console

It arrived today however I only have 1 snes game at the moment to try it which is Krustys Super Fun House so I will post a proper opinion in a few days when my other games and pads arrive.

For this game though it played perfectly. The wireless pad simply needed 2 AAA batteries and it worked straight away. Sometimes seemed a bit slow if my hand covered the wireless point at the top but other than that its a decent pad. I only really plan on using the original pads though so these dont bother me.

I'm curious if it will work with a multi-tap, can't see why not.. but curious!

I'll do this in order... start with my favourite purchase, my mint complete (even the manuals and posters in the polythene bags) Super Mario All Stars SNES:

To continue the console obsession I've gone through this week we have:

Again, everything mint condition inside (and it even came with the memory expansion pack installed)

Same as above, but this one kindly came with an RGB scary (something I'd been contemplating picking up)

And finally some more actual games:

I think I've gone a little over the top too  ...:

That's even more impressive!! Where do you normally find them? I have many just games without boxes for my SNES, I don't think I have any boxes for any of the consoles I have..

Lot's of eBay and forum searching... I have to admit, I usually end up buying multiple copies to allow me to make the best one out of all of them.

The boxed SNES was from a great games shop near my mum's house!

I have been like that with Streets of Rage 2 for the Mega Drive. My best mate and me used to play it at his house when I was 11 or so and I have somehow managed to get 3 or 4 copies of it!! Not to mention the 4 or 5 Mega Drives I have as well!! :p

As long as all of my consoles work I don't mind, but the boxes would be nice for keep safes :)
