Return to 'The Troubles'?

Nope we are never pleased :p

Learn our language (non of this craic and AYE that I have no idea if its a response or just being polite) and none of this public patriotism, no one likes that. :p :D

Because they paint there walls with that nonsense and get very uppity about how they live in Britain...

It is fair to say no one should be forced to move because of their religion or their beliefs, but it is not fair to defend them when they are just making it so difficult for them selves. It looks such a nasty place to live, why raise kids there when there is loyalist junk everywhere that attracts this rubbish.

It's a kin to someone saying "I want to stay in my home" despite it falling off a cliff. There is no positive reason to stay living there, only negative reasons. So by living there they are making the negatives a part of their identity and quite frankly are bringing on the abuse. Might as well be dressed up as the KKK and walk through Croydon (note couldn't think of anywhere more ghetto, replace Croydon with somewhere more ghetto if you think of anywhere/like Croydon).

So what your saying is they should abandon all beliefs and culture in a bid to try and stop these attacks from others?

You see that's why this country is in the position it is in. People like you seem oblivious to the fact that a lot of people in N.Ireland see the union flag as the flag of a foreign nation, the same people calling to unite Ireland as it once was before the British invaded.

There is going to have to be give and take on both sides.

I'm not oblivious to the fact that a lot of people in Northern Ireland see the Union Flag as the flag of a foreign nation. And as for give and take, that works both ways... maybe Sinn Fein could have called for the Union Jack to fly on only designated days like the Alliance party instead of calling for the removal of the flag entirely from a British building in a British province...

Northern Ireland mainly wants to be in the UK, a few nationalists arnt making it 50/50.

I still dont get your point? Are you saying that because you think the majority of us want to stay in the uk the loyalists should have their way with everything and have the right to riot over a decision to remove a flag?

So what your saying is even if the majority don't want it, some do so it should be done even if it offends the others? Sensible.

No, if you want to use the label British and want to be a part of the UK, don't push it in other peoples faces.

Actually showing patriotism publicly (and getting shirty about it) is why we had the colonies. It's a thing for Australia and America, not real Britain. Painting a union flag on the side of your house and writing LOYALISM DERP DERP DERP everywhere is just asking for trouble and is not culture. If you don't want to "be the victim" in these attacks don't bend over and ask for it and then be surprised when people take you up on it.

I actually agree with you on that and im a Sinn Fein supporter, sometimes I think they take too hard a view on things. I dont see any problem in flying the flag on the designated days. This country is no longer solely a British province whether you like it or not, there is as many if not more people living here that consider themselves to be Irish or Northern Irish.

Are you forgetting it was removed due to a vote? The majority voted that they wanted it taken down, sorry if the vote offended you but that's democracy for you.

So what your now saying is that its ok for nationalists to do this, but if its pro British its wrong?

I dont see nationalists out trying to ram the tricolour in everyones faces.

Yes I only see the ongoing murder campaign against Security Forces. But quite right, that flag must cause as much harm.

Sinn Fein are to nationalism / republicanism what the DUP are to loyalism / unionism. They're both extreme sides. You had the DUP wanting the flag flying all the time, and Sinn Fein never wanting it up. The Alliance party struck the middle ground of designated days.

The GFA acknowledged that the majority wished to remain a part of the United Kingdom and a section wanted a United Ireland, though it allowed those in it to identify whichever way they wished (allowing people to identify as either Irish or British, or both, or Northern Irish) and while the British repealed the partition act, the Irish gave up the territorial claim to Northern Ireland. It's still British with a devolved government until such time as the people vote otherwise. And I can't see that for many years to come.

The way things are atm I would have to agree.

No, im saying the people rioting on the streets are wrong, the flag was removed by a vote. I am also saying that the ***** out trying to kill police and prison officers should be locked up and the key thrown away.
