Typical "we do nothing wrong" finger pointing mentality when the media paints a very different picture. Suppose its "Sinn Fein\ IRA" going out burning cars in Loyalist areas as well eh?

BTW the Chinese was the night previous :)

You're scraping the barrel for excuses here, did you not watch some of the other videos on the channel somebody posted about the pensioner not going through or did you just decide to keep quiet on that? Works both ways.

I think you'll find its loyalists scraping the barrel looking for excuses, as usual pointing the finger at everyone but their own knuckle dragging offspring. If we were to believe every excuse they've fired out so far it would seem every news outlet there is is against them and simply making up stories to show them in a bad light.

Sad thing is there's people dumb enough to believe that.
 
Some amazingly short sighted and one sided posts in this. I thought this was a better forum tbh.

I think its safe to say the whole debacle has brought out the absolute worst in both sides of the the political communities and this "HE DID IT WORSER MISTER" or "HE STARTED IT" is just gonna carry on for pages and pages.

Ive seen Unionists and Nationalists both masked up and throwing petrol bombs at each other and the police. Theres video evidence of both and the fact you guys are arguiging who is worst shows we truly have a long way to go yet.

The most depressing side of this whole thing is finding out from your facebook friends list who is an absolute passive bigot and has had to be unfriended as a result...!

Well Loyalists from the night of the vote on this issue were outside City Hall tooled up with masks, bolt cutters etc so its plain to see what side the drama kicked off with. Nationalists have only been Dragged into it with the short strand being attacked on a few successive days, there's probably some ********* out trying to cause drama but hardly on the same scale as these "Protesters". There's only one side attempting to bring "NI" to a stand still by blocking off roads and its not nationalists.

Enough of the *** for tat BS. Voting to remove it was only ever going to provoke and it did.

Short strand might have been provoked with marches etc but nothing excuses the video footage of hoods from the same place with bags full of bottles and bricks firing them at protestors. Stop trying to justify violence for your own community and accept the whole thing is pure disgrace.

The hoods from both sides represent neither the majority of their respective communities and yesterdays peace parade showed that.

Couldn't agree more. It's the same pathetic ****ing contest it always has been. One thing I don't miss about living in NI is the insular people who's intellectual horizon is firmly drawn at "ARE YE A KAHLIK OR A PROD".
 
Tbh this thread shows perfectly why northern ireland is still a mess til for tat bull **** which each side pretending they are whiter than white. Both sides are a ****ING disgrace and the sooner people see this and grow up the sooner NI will exactly start improving. Unfortunately the politicians are too busy point scoring to do anything that will make a real difference

I think people who aren't involved in it, aren't brought up in it, aren't brainwashed with it, and don't live it every day do see this, just not the ones who continue it which is, I think, your point. This thread was always going to turn out this way in the same way that real, terrible events continue to happen in the very place that those posters are posting from.
 
Its a delicate situation naturally. The violence on the streets is a tiny percentage from each side but thats all is seen of our country on the news.

I really hope anyone whos never been here can see past all this for what NI is, a beautiful country with amazing people deep down and some awesome stuff going on too.

Nobody's trying to justify anything, simply stating the facts. I've already mentioned there was some ********* from the strand involved in it. You're gonna get that regardless.

I was brought up there, been attacked for being catholic, been attack for being protestant, death threats against family etc but can see clear as day that the *** for tat rubbish is pointless. The depressing thing is its unlikely to change because parents will tell their the kids the same old rubbish, rinse and repeat.

You read my post with your defensive blinkers on, old chap, and in doing so you created a perfect example of what I said. My post, as quoted, didn't hint at prejudice or favour towards any particular stance. I have equal disdain for spides, regardless of political or religious leanings.
