Thanks for putting that list together, really appreciate it! Will start watching some videos/reviews. Any experience of saints and sinners?

Oh that was quick!

What storage solution does everyone use? Said to keep the lenses out of direct sunlight so just playing it safe and unplugging it each time at the moment, but need to do that from the PC rather than the headset end.

I leave it connected and made a little wall mount for the headset, with 'eyes up' so it doesn't collect dust in the lenses.

Attached to the wall is a 90° bracket, to which a short piece of wood is screwed, and then on top of that is a horizontal piece of wood wrapped in foam and then wrapped in a microfiber cloth given the lenses will be resting against it. Wood and foam cut to give a nice snug fit inside the headset.

The headset looks like it's floating against the wall when mounted. Not a pretty wall mount, but you don't see that as it's entirely covered by the headset.

It's on my personal list of VR games to buy, trouble is I have a Quest and an Index, so I'm not sure which one to go for. The Oculus store version is cross-buy so you get both the PC and (when it's released) the Quest wireless version, but of course the Steam VR version properly supports Index.

Decided I want to try one of these now! :D

But nowhere has stock and the only places that do are well over the usual price of £350........

Mines come :)

Ordered at midnight Wednesday and delivered this morning!. Straight from Oculus website. Now that is quick.

Just waiting on my overclockers order now so i can build the pc to use it !! :)

saints and sinners is brilliant.....and quite brutal at times.....

i already have mine but just got email from currys/pcworld stating they will no longer be stocking these.....looks like they going straight from the warehouse to us.....

Right just managed to snag a used like new one for £410, could have got a used very good one for £20 cheaper but figure for the sake of £20 I might as well.....

Probably won't arrive for a couple of weeks but what should I do in advance and what games are must buys? (main reason I got one is for half life)

My standing space has me with just over a metre all round...so i stuck a normal wee white screw in hook a metre TO THE REAR of my standing space (will fill in the first hole i made directly above me and paint it later )...

Get a wee velcro strip to get the wire from the headset to the rear instead of the side...

Get the oculus software, steam vr and any apps/games you already have installed now so you are good to go...

If you dont have easy access to the usb 3 port get an extender so when youre finished you just pull out the usb cable when done (the dp cable can safely stay in)...

Get a small supply of batteries or some rechargeables for the controllers......for some reason my right controller going through its battery quicker than the left ...

Those are the cheap/free/easy ones......

Get the AMVR hand grips NOW.....they also come with a lens protector and a wee shield to stop light bleed from nose area...

If you think you will need a gun stock for shooty shooty bang bang games decide on one now and get it now.....ive been watching tonnes of vids...reading tonnes of posts...and still cant pull the trigger (see what i did there :p)...driving me mental...

Those are the pricier ones....

The face gasket is foam....and will soak up sweat.....unlike the OG rift the foam cannot be removed normaly....you can peel it off cleanly....attach velcro hooks and buy replacement breathable and cleanable leatherette gaskets...not done this...yet but got the vid bookmarked...

Hope some of this was of help...im sure others will have more...

:)

Thanks for the advice!

Although I went and cancelled the order :o It was really just an impulse buy largely for half life and after having a look today for games, there just isn't enough to make the £400+ price tag worthwhile.
