All this talk of cheap chinese carbon frames, makes me want to build up a TT bike for next year! Very dangerous! Must resist!

Where are the Strava challenges for August, leaving it a bit late? Guessing be something Vuelta related towards the end of the month.

can you not add another link into the chain? Or a halflink maybe?
I've sorted it. The fact is, this bike was not designed to take 23mm tyres. At the front of the dropouts the 23mm tyre is against the frame. 20c tyres clear the frame (and are the same size as old track tubulars). It looks pretty tight, but there's bags of clearance now:

125 in the back, 112 in the front - this ought to be fun

Something like this? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-padded-undershort/

Also think of the added benefit of looking like you have a large(er) package ;)

I might have to order a pair of these! what's the sizing like?

Jebus! Any reasonably priced 73mm calipers around? My brother is building up a frame and that's the last bit he needs! 57mm rub the tyre so 73mm is needed but I can't find a pair for less than 50quid which IMO is too much when shorter ones can be had for 20-30 fish.

Looking at booking my hire bike for Majorca. My home bike is a Boardman Team Carbon (2010) with standard 50/34T compact and Shimano Ultegra 11-28. Which should I go for out of... (all from www.procyclehire.com).

TITANIUM Van Nicholas Euros Triple
TITANIUM Van Nicholas Euros Ultegra Compact Crank
TITANIUM Van Nicholas Mistral Compact Crank
TEAM CARBON Massi ultegra Compact Crank
PRO CARBON Massi Ultegra Standard Crank
TEAM CARBON Massi Shimano 105 Compact Crank
TEAM CARBON Massi Campag Compact Crank 11spd
PRO-CARBON Massi Pro SL Dura ace Standard Crank
PRO-CARBON Massi Chorus 11sp 52/39
ROAD CARBON Ambrosio Celcius Compact Crank

Bearing in mind I want to tackle the Coll de Soller.

Went out on the mountain bike for a quick ride this evening with some guys from church. Halfway round we stop in a field and my mate starts pulling cans of Kronenbourg out of his bag. Sorted.

PRO CARBON Massi Ultegra Standard Crank
ROAD CARBON Ambrosio Celcius Compact Crank

I'v tried both of these bikes from procyclehire.
They are nothing special. Low-end carbon frames with acceptable groupsets on them.
Both perfectly adequate for the big miles we were doing (600+ for the week) and fine for the long climbs and fast descents.
Pick a compact crank if that's what you are used to. The climbs are not very steep but go on for a long time and it's easy to go too hard at the bottom and then need to use the lower gears later on the climb.
I wouldnt bother paying the extra for a titanium frame unless you're considering buying one and want to try it out first.

How long are you allowed to be out on the bike for?

If money is no object I'd take the VN with di2 and the compact.

Good question. I've booked Majorca next April and I'll be doing the same.

Thats a sad read, especially given that Strava was only successful because of the community.

Normally DC has some excellent articles but this one doesn't really tell the whole story and is extremely bias.

As a user and a dev whose 2 apps & a plugin for a 3rd party app have all been affected by the v3 api changes. I wasn't even remotely surprised or upset. I knew well in advance it was coming.

From a user perspective the changes are better, they increase our privacy and and control over who and which 3rd parties can access our data. It's also still early days and Strava is a small team. It's too early to bring out the pitchforks imo.

Ugh the downsides of buying a bike online...

My Cinelli arrived from Wiggle yesterday and it came with a white saddle (yuck) instead of black, bars that are too wide/incorrectly set up and a 120mm stem despite the frame being XS! I'm trying to get them to exchange it for a more appropriate 90mm stem.

Yeah I got rid of my Charge so still at 3. I'll upload photos when it's actually photo worthy!:p

Need to slam the stem, get a new saddle, get a shorter stem and possibly replace/redo the bars.

I have to say Veloce is decent enough but it isn't a patch on Chorus!

Is it just me or is the Cervelo S5 supremely fugly?

I agree.
I saw a list of 'top 10 aero bikes' or something on bikeradar not long ago. I'm a big fan of fat-tube aero frames and i loved them all...except the cervelo.
I think it would be fine if it wasnt for that silly headtube.

edit: i think that picture you posted is a medium or a small, the large looks even worse :(
