they attach to the 2 bars on either side just above there.
I'm concerned with any clearance issues or anything near the disc brakes but it doesn't look like they would get in the way

The only issues you usually have with panniers and disc brakes are if the callipers are mounted on the seat stay rather than the chain stay. Provided you have a standard rack rather than a narrow one you'll have no problems at all.

Mine was a similar layout to yours:

i donned the lycra and hit the road at 5am thismorning for my first ride, 3.5mi and i averaged 13.9mph :)
can someone give me a link where i can sign up for next years TDF please?

3.5mi? why don't you push for a bit more? ;o soaked in rain this morning.. 10 miles in heavy rain was fun :o surprised my phone survived in my jean pocket.

need a waterproof jacket for the winter months.. anything you guys can recommend?

Is it a press-fit bottom bracket or is it held in with circlips?
If it's circlips, you could whip the bearings out and clean up the outer surfaces then regrease it and put it back together.

Press fit or I would have done that already :(

I stripped the cranks down, cleaned regreased and torqued those.

Decathlon do one for £10.

Alternatively, you can remortgage your house and get one from Rapha.

As Asprilla said... budget?

I went with a disc brake specific rack on my bike as I wasn't sure if I'd have clearance, though it looks as though it'd fit on a bike with standard brakes as well; http://www.topeak.com/products/racks/supertouristdxtubularrack_disc

1k to spend, best commuter to get? - for a mate.

he wants a ribble 872 :/
I was going to recommend the bike that I have, the Pinnacle Arkose, but they're low on stock in most sizes.

Have you tried stripping and greasing everything else? Like the stem (faceplate and steerer side), headset, seatpost, etc?

I had an annoying click from my bike that i was convinced was the bottom bracket. It was only when i was pushing relatively hard, once per crank revolution. It happened occasionally when i was standing up out of the saddle as well but i eventually narrowed it down to the seatpost. The slight twist of the frame when i push on the pedals must have been enough to cause it even if i wasnt sitting down.
Carbon assembly paste all over the seatpost sorted it completely.

Normally DC has some excellent articles but this one doesn't really tell the whole story and is extremely bias.

As a user and a dev whose 2 apps & a plugin for a 3rd party app have all been affected by the v3 api changes. I wasn't even remotely surprised or upset. I knew well in advance it was coming.

From a user perspective the changes are better, they increase our privacy and and control over who and which 3rd parties can access our data. It's also still early days and Strava is a small team. It's too early to bring out the pitchforks imo.

I wouldn't mind, if Strava were providing any sort of decent level of info comparable to that provided by the 3rd party apps. The Strava Annual Summary was brilliant for providing a really granular breakdown of, well, everything. How many miles did I do on my mountain bike last year? How has my average speed increased on my road bike compared to last year? Which segments have I achieved a better time on this year compared to last year? All of that information was trivially easy to get at. Strava doesn't have anything like the ease of use of some of the 3rd party apps, and I'm really not holding my breath that they'll get it together.

3.5mi is a great start. When I got back into cycling a few years ago I could barely manage 2mi without feeling like my chest was about to explode :p

What size are you? I have a dhb Southsea jacket in large that you're welcome to have if you'll cover the postage cost. It doesn't look like a cycling jacket, so it could be right up your alley ;)

Soooo.

Tubular, tubeless or clinchers....!?

Cursing my BB30, it creaked for 20km on Saturday then stopped for the next 60.

Got on the rollers tonight, after pumping up a slow flat which I need to fix tonight... creak creak creak!

Now what do I do, get the bike in the shop and have it sorted $$$ or buy one from the shop and DIY and hope its the BB causing it. It only creaks while pedalling and putting reasonable power through the cranks. If you soft pedal or freewheel it doesn't creak.

I don't want to do almost 100k on Saturday with it being noisy and I doubt I'll make many friends in the group!

Maybe try Veloflex Corsa clinchers? Apparently very close to tubs, I might try some next.

PS finally got my DA shifter replaced by Ribble, being fitted to my bike this aft.... Felt like I've been without it for ages! :-(

The are lovely. I'll be fitting a pair tomorrow for the LondonSurrey with latex tubes.

As an indication of how flexible they are the box is about half the size of any other tyre I've had, including Vittoria Open Corsas and Paves.

In other news, now the days are getting shorter, apparently: 40% off Lezyne Lights at Cycle Surgery with the code '40LEZ'
