If you've got a singlespeed and your running a freewheel just go get a geared bike you wusses!

Fixed or nothing!

My BJ on summer runabout duties

Someone appears to have vandalised your handlebars.

Seems like a fast course, got a Strava link?

There's some lovely bikes at ours too, one chap with £9k worth of Cervelo TT bike and disc wheel.

Bit much for a bike you can't really ride that often.

And my thoughts exactly on the bike, don't see much point in buying anything over the entry level Planet X ones as long as they are sufficiently stiff and suit your proportions. If you're riding a course that is so lumpy that weight becomes an issue then I'm thinking you'd probably be better off on a road bike with tribars.

I dropped in to Condor to try on some Rapha. The classic jersey is quite nice, but I'm not convinced it is worth 2 Torm jerseys unless you must have the Rapha name. Fit and quality don't seem better to me!

My single speed has a purpose; I'm time poor and can't go further so the other option is harder and faster.

I want a single speed for the short runs I do down into town from time to time. I also want one for the winter. I do a lot of my riding after 7 at night on the weekdays, so come October or thereabouts it's dark and cold. I don't want to be venturing into the hills, so I'd rather do a shorter, harder ride to get an equivalent workout.

I am looking for a used one , as I regret buying my rollers

Which ones do you have? Second-hand rollers hold their value really well.

I have some Tacx Antares and regularly see the same ones on ebay second-hand going for the same price as i paid for mine new.

Thanks guys
Re Kurt trainer , I'll have a look tonight when I'm not using my phone

At the moment, the prices for the Road Machine are so cheap you might as well get a new one. The used ones tend to go for around £200 unless you're lucky and get one local to you for collection.

^Same price at Vanilla Bikes for the Rock n Roll and the Road Machine is cheaper still. They also have 1/3 off accessories, might pick up the riser block for £20 there.

Can't fault PX though, I ordered my Road Machine at 10am and it arrived the same time the next morning. Just annoyed it then popped up a bit cheaper at Vanilla Bikes!

so they do ! Thanks

shame they sold out of their Road Machines, only £218 !!

Is it true that you have prove you wear oversized glasses, use an iPad and drink cappuccinos before you are allowed to purchase a fixie?

You forgot skinny jeans.

Certain hipster bike shops in East London might require you to, but anyone can ride a fixie and that is certainly the case in London. You will of course see many though who treat it completely as a fashion accessory.
