Guys im thinking about selling my Canyon Ultimate AL 9.0 Di2 but not sure how much its worth? Its the white frame with full Ultegra groupset. Mavic wheels. Its all in great condition, only about 1500-2000 miles on the clock. Could anyone suggest a ballpark of what they would expect to pay for one?

Roady where do you normally ride? My ears *****ed up when you mentioned Kings Acre Road haha.

I'm looking forward to getting out of the smoke and back to Hereford in April to crack on with some riding again finally. Time to burn off all of this London boozing.

Gutted I didn't get more in last year before heading up here, but I'm terrified of riding in central London. Also I convinced the Mrs to buy a new bike last year and it ended up getting stolen within a week.

Got to decide if its finally time to replace my 2011 Allez. Are people still rating the chinese carbon frames?

Anyone fancy adding me on Strava? I'm looking for other people to spend my work day looking at the rides/routes of... :p

https://www.strava.com/athletes/3808469

£10 and I'm all yours. Dammit! Already added! :p

can I ask a slight silly question

Been reading up about caring for all my cycling clothes, and because I use the washing machine for everything (on delicate cycle) they say to put bib shorts in mesh bags to avoid the straps snagging on other clothes , anyone use mesh bags ? if so what size ones do you use? Thanks

oh and still not out on the bike :(

I've never used one and never really had a problem with them, then again I wash all my cycling stuff together so not much danger of sharper objects or thinner straps getting tangled.

my mum using Bra ones, they are tiny !

Get a mum with bigger... Bags?! ;)

My missus has one of those bags but it's only used for more delicate stuff - like dresses with gems on or such rather than underwear/bras. I imagine they're expensive for a larger one so some kind of 'soft-netting' type bag would work better than a pillowcase (thinking if your bibs are dirty they're not going to be very washed when stuffed inside a pillowcase) :)

Thanks - sorry if you get annoyed with my multiple rides. I Strava absolutely everything :) but I get the impression that your the same!

He's worse. Like 10,000x worse! :rolleyes::p ;)

this was yesterday.. dunno, should I feel bad for the drivers? :)

Your filtering through traffic is incredible to watch! I must shake your hand at some point! I wouldn't give them any sympathy, they know what the traffic is like, they choose to sit in it every day.

I filter slightly like that at around 1/3 the speed - but not in multiple lanes of traffic, normally overtaking 1 stationary lane towards moving oncoming traffic so I have to be fairly careful/slow! Lots of tractors/lorries/trailers!

Seeing you filter between vans and buses makes me cringe, but I guess they're primarily stationary so not much danger of getting squished!? Would be good to see VIRB footage with it helmet mounted just to judge your awareness as filtering like that really puts mine to shame! I nearly had a runner on my commute home last night as he ran through stationary traffic I was overtaking - can't have saw me as he stopped right in my way, then jumped backwards (after I'd 75% emergency stopped)!:o

PLEASE PLEASE don't tell me it's XL size:eek::eek::eek:

I MUST resist!!!!

Hahaha! I live the south side of Hereford (Ross Road/Bullingham Lane/old SAS camp development) and commute to the West - behind the Garden Centre on Kings Acre (I work for the Nurseries the Garden Centres grew out of in the 80's). Won't mention the name as it'll appear on google searches Wye - vale;)

Had no idea you were a cyclist - remember you from the crypto-Mining threads and the insane number of 7990's you had?! Think I saw Hereford before but also remember something about Bristol?

If you're back this way feel free to gimmie a holla for some cycling - I'm getting more adventurous so aiming to explore most of the routes around here this year... Grand plan of metric/imperial century but nothing set in stone, main aim is finding some social cycling!

Pft :p Yeah... I do tend to spam a lot.

Just change the feed to the OCUK group and stalk in stealth! Throw in a few random kudos to wind some people up.

Sorted.

Ah, good idea. I will give that a try. Especially the random kudos bit :D

I just watched some of this and though I filter through similar traffic at times some of the squeezing between vans and busses is pretty crazy  Some of it looks okay but other times I'd be quite worried about being crushed. Also about getting car-doored by someone. In December that nearly happened to me twice (door actually hit the side of my leg one of the times but luckily all I got was a bruise).

Yeaah I know the areas well.

Yep that was me. I was working in Bristol for a couple years after uni before moving back to Hereford.

Maybe you know one of my best mates who used to work at the same place before disappearing travelling about 18 months ago?

I will definitely give you a shout at some point. I originally bought the roadbike for commuting in Bristol and planned to carry on riding for fitness when I moved back. Unfortunately my plan of getting some mates involved backfired a bit and we all ended up buying mountain bikes instead so I really haven't done a lot over the last year.

I keep meaning to go and join up with one of the Sunday morning rides at climbon, but having the girlfriend here or having to go to London seemed to always get in the way. 100 miles is also the main target and would love to have a go at the Malvern sportive some time.

Current plan is to be back for April.

Ah so that's what that bag is for I got my Assos Bibs in! Will be using that from now on!

I'm not stalking you, honest lol (just have a crazy memory for some things, usually nothing useful!)

Not sure (Dan Phillips? Romas?), there's lots of people who come and go here! I'm a fairly new addition - started just over 3 years ago, although I'm a foreigner (from over the border!) so don't know many people. Apart from meeting people from going to the Jaily regularly a few years ago...

I recently became a Climb-on customer so will defo be wanting to attend some of their rides too! Last one was while I was away on holiday so I'm going to ask about the next when I see them in a week or two's time (bike is due a service). I have an NFTO club guy (non-pro) I'm gonna go on a ride with (recovery ride for him no doubt!) as well as some guys I know through my girlfriends work. My girlfriend also cycles - but has no interest in it outside of commuting :(

Couple of my friends ride downhill/MTB but they're not Hereford-based.

His names Dave and he lives just opposite. I know a Dan but not very well, just people I met through him and yeah he loved the jaily haha. I've not gone for years.

I am going to be SLOOOOOOW for a bit when first back. That's another thing that has stopped me joining group rides. However I bought the old man a turbo for Xmas and knowing him itl still be in the box, so may bring that up here with the bike next time I'm home.

Anyway I'll stop hogging this thread add you on strava and send you a trust or something in a couple of months when I'm about.

Jaily has closed now & is probably being developed into flats!:(

I don't know many Daves, none from Hereford anyway. SLOOOOOW is not a problem, I really need to work on pacing myself and my stamina anyways. I've not gone further than about 16 miles on the road, only on the turbo have I 'gone' further! Hoping some Trainerroad and sweet-spot help with that!

The main 'loop' I do is Ledbury road->Mordiford->Holme Lacy->Rotherwas as that direction is in easy reach for me living south side, but one of the main things for me is to find more local loop routes! Without too many hills! ;)

Catch you on Strava! :)

Some ninja filtering, but srsly, London looks like hell.

Your filtering through traffic is incredible to watch! I must shake your hand at some point! I wouldn't give them any sympathy, they know what the traffic is like, they choose to sit in it every day.

It's probably the fact that I've been cycling in London for so long that I've kinda learned the flow of the traffic and what works and what doesn't on a bicycle? I bet it looks very dangerous and I don't usually go at that pace through traffic but yesterday I just went for it at quite a pace.. normally I take it slower! attaching head cam would show a better angle of the whole thing I guess but It'd be too much for the viewer, lots and lots of looking behind, turning, ducking, full body twists etc just to get between mirrors etc.. when you see the camera shake from one side to another, that's me basically throwing the bike so I could avoid hitting the mirrors - it's that tight! but wide angle lens makes it look quite a bit better that it actually was haha :)

I've been doored twice, not a fun experience.. both times I've managed to slow down to an ok speed for it to be just a bump on my knee(both on bmx)

I have managed to hit over 10 pedestrians over the year and a bit that I've cycled from North london.. through oxford street which is like carmageddon! except on a bicycle ;)

I dunno about getting crushed, its all pretty low speed/stand-still traffic etc.. it can be painful without doubt but I do avoid filtering through moving traffic when it gets too tight.

stand-still is much easier on the other hand! you do get drivers who randomly decide to just drive left/right for no reason etc..

Only 10 pedestrians? Keep pushing :p

I'm looking at buying a new waterproof jacket - DHB Turbulence. Any idea on the fit? I've really no idea of this sort of thing for me any more as I've lost weight and stuff. When I buy clothes for up top they're often size small now, despite me being 6'1'' Looking at the sizing chart I'm a L in height, M in chest and S in waist.

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-turbulence-windproof-cycling-jacket-1/

Very confusing.

edit: Actually, a guy I work with has a DHB jacket (not the exact same one - model up I think) size small and I just tried it on. It fits me fine (fairly tight but not skin tight, and that's with me wearing a shirt underneath). I guess I'm going for size small

edit2: Actually, I'm not sure about what to go for now. I want something that is breathable and water proof - not fussed about it being warm as I'll wear a layer beneath it for that. It seems kind of hard to find suitable stuff though, especially if you don't want a giant jacket flapping around all over the place (which I already have and works well aside from the ridiculous air drag).

I always seem to be a bit thinly spread between bikes, cars, DIY etc. Do you guys have other hobbies aside from cycling or is it just cycling for you?

Cycling, running and skiing for me. It's not really possible to cycle here in the winter though so weekends are just for skiing. When the snow goes, I'll be back on the bike so they're mutually compatible I guess, and both are perfect cross training for each other. I usually lose a bit of leg girth during the winter as I train less on the bike (more running), but not this year; and the regular skiing has actually done wonders for my core: so much stronger so I'm really looking forward to getting back out on the bike proper (just rollering atm).
