Strava's full of tarts these days :p

Looks like a good session though - what's your trainer setup?

I just use my triban 3 on the cycleops fluid 2. I think i did two and a half turns / three turns once it touches the back wheel and I sit on 4 / 5th highest gear or in tonight's case 3rd highest gear for half of the session! Usually use this video when I'm on the turbo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSFYRiqodvU I have looked for ones slightly longer but only find ones that suggest rpms which i cant 'accurately' measure or the next one up from ctxc is a 90 minute one which I don't quite feel up to yet :p

What club are you going with?
I'm also going there for a week in April (1st week)

I think its 'kinross' something or other. I go out on April 13th. I live almost an hour and a half from Kinross but by chance i got put on a course today and one of the speakers is also going on on the trip to majorca..

Ah so that's what that bag is for I got my Assos Bibs in! Will be using that from now on!

Mine doesn't work, the bibs always come out of it.

Gave up bothering with it and didn't seem to do them many harm. My Assos bibs faded a lot quicker than any other I have though.

I think the Castellis are the best value, $160 approx with the best pad, that's half the price of a pair of Raphas finest. Now I'll admit I don't have any of them, but can they be twice as good!?

Jagwire inline adjusters, what's the point!? Been looking through my kit tonight as I'm thinking about changing the cables and tape Friday night. I can't see why you would install them. They look fugly and are just something else to break. Just index your gears properly and have done with it

Did the morning bunch today, jumped out the group half way up the CAT 4 and flew up then turned where we normally do when racing. Did a few circles blowing out my arse while I waited for everyone else, they then rode straight past and carried on... I thought we be stopping there as most people complain if we do too many hills! If you do another 3km it keeps going up and turns into a CAT 3. Had to jump back on and keep up so I didn't look a ****, got to the top first but I was pretty close to puking or ******** myself then!

Agh. Did 30 miles through central London traffic without incident on Sunday and then came off the bike last night 5 mins into a short ride near home. Hit a slippery patch whilst cornering and the bike went out from under me.

Landed on my shoulder and result is an Acromioclavicular Joint Injury (torn ligaments in shoulder). So several weeks in a sling to look forward to, and no skiing in 3 weeks... :(

Very wet roads today which meant most drivers were being super careful. Slow traffic but at least it was relatively safe. One idiot still tried to kill me though. It's always a good idea to overtake a cyclist that has taken primary on a narrow road whilst someone else is trying to turn on to it from the right.

On the bright side, the new tyres seem to be very good. The Pro4 Endurance 25mm were good in the wet but these felt extremely solid despite only being 23mm (Pro4 Grip Service Course). I guess time will tell but initial impressions are positive.

Ouch, sorry to hear. Hope it heals up quickly.

Oops, meant to reply to these:

Ah, nice. Have you tried Trainer Road with it? :)

I'll draft you then! :p

Given my size that would probably work quite well :p I might have my new bike by then so there's a small chance I'll be somewhat more aero-shaped...

Last time it was just over 21mph average for the whole thing. I'd like to hit 22 or so this time and improve my position (362nd last time). It's surprising how fast you can go on fully closed roads with no traffic lights/stops :p

edit: If you've not already registered it may be worth holding off/getting British Cycling membership sorted first. I seem to recall BC members got to set off before everyone else so you can avoid the initial crush of really slow riders.

edit2: Sign up for a bronze race membership with code NEWCMRA to get 12 months membership for free.

Did the morning bunch today, ...

Need to find mine and give it a try, my bibs seem to have stayed ok, although they aren't quite as black as my Castelli Leg warmers btu they are brand new. I need to try a pair of Castelli bibs, now I've got some Rapha Bibs, they're going to be hard to beat, They're a little bit better pad wise than my Assos, but the legs are longer and comfier, and they look a lot better with the stripe! :P

Need to do my tape/cables, but trying to put it off until the end of the winter, although going to need to find someone to help with my tape, don't want to mess it up!

HAHA, bet you felt a right prat, all good training though forcing you to push on to catch!

I would really push to see a specialist on that if you haven't already, my wife spent ~6 months trying to recover from an AC joint injury through physio before they realised it needed surgery. A couple of months later it was 90% recovered.
