Reminds me of the night I got a puncture and was taking it easy when a chap on a mtb with an alfine hub was going some pace. Without my 30psi tyre I'd have showed him up though, honest :)

I've just come across a Kickstarter project for the BLAZE Bike Light, which is a torch that projects a sharp bright image of a bike ahead of you on to the ground so that people notice that you are coming.

What do people think of the idea?

Kickstarter project page has a video of how it works.

Not 100% sold on the idea and it looks like a vibrator.

I'd rather blind the eyes off drivers so they see me than that. That and ride smart so I don't get hit/can react to idiot drivers.

i dont mind when a guy passes me.. but when a girl does... god ill rip her to peaces after that.. i get magic energy to leave her miles behind :D

I'm relieved to learn that I am not the only one who absolutely must overtake any female on a bike. I know it makes me a small minded cretin, but I just cannot control that need to get past them...

In other news, I am going to concede defeat and get some full length mudguards fitted to my commuter bike. I should probably get around to fitting the studded tyres to my spare bike soon, as it looks as though we'll be getting some sub-zero temperatures in the coming weeks. Winter cycling is so much fun!

I'd be more embarrassed if a MTB rider wearing full black with no lights or helmet came riding past me.

This happened to me yesterday  I was just coming off a junction taking it really easy getting up to speed, and I hear the faint buzz of MTB tyres and then he comes past me and instantly turns off. No chance to burn him back! fml

I dunno. Hanging in for a tow for a while usually has its benefits.....
I wonder how many times you've been caught, and forced to exclaim; "I was drafting, not letching, I swear!!"...

My flat mate who is female would in all likeliness destroy all of you on a bike. But she is a triathlete and trains religiously year in year out.

I normally don't have a problem being over taken by any creed or colour.. except when they're an 'all the gear no idea type' typically riding a brand new Boardman/Bianchi draped head to toe in DHB clothing for some reason this never fails to get me into race mode.

Catch me if you can! I ride a Boardman and wrap up in full DHB clothing, what can I say - value for money is my top priority and AFAIK Boardman and DHB top that list!
