Woo! It's like a prop from Tron :D

How have you managed to keep the reflectors towards the rim of the wheel?

Will give that a go, and maybe a banana too then. Maybe I'm not getting any energy from the food in time for the ride? I'll try a 4am snack sometime! I'm going to bike in once a week at least regardless of pain!

They just clip on. They take a bit of force to go on and then they stick. They don't move freely on their own.

Edit: Also Strava & my phone need to go jump off a bridge and die. I've just got home after blasting my 13.5m commute home in 40mins. I've finally got my cleats and seat set up so it's comfortable and doesn't give my knee hell, I had minimal traffic, green lights all the way bar one and good weather.

Total segment times recorded? None. GPS dropped out at all the relevant points. NOT A HAPPY BUNNY...

Someone spec me a decent GPS bike computer. Not fussy about GPS directions. Just want one that records GPS well, and has HR and cadence sensors.

Garmin Edge 500 does all those things. Love mine, easily one of the best cycling related purchases I made.

Woo, got to another Aldi and picked up a winter jersey, some winter trousers, socks and some overshoes. I don't think the overshoes will be great in the wet, but right now I'm more worried with the wind. I'll pick up some proper neoprene ones in the future, but there will do for now.

My spokes must be a bit thicker as they move up and down. I've solved that by doubling them up on alternate spokes like the vid to get an amazing effect.

Remember that neoprene is warm but certainly not waterproof. :)

Hmm. That's a good point, actually. Quite the reverse, really!

I made the same mistake when I came home and announced to my other half

"Got some new overshoes, these should keep my feet dry and warm."
"But they're neoprene?"
"Yeah?"
"What are wetsuits made out of?"
"..." :o

:p

I've found the waterproof ones all leak anyway during heavy rain and don't keep your feet as warm so neoprene is the way to go IMO.

I have owned a pair of Pro Tarmac H2O overshoes for the last couple of years and used them lots on my commute. One of THE best bits of cycling kit I've spent my hard earned cash on. They are highly recommended and if you shop around you can pick a pair up for under £20. Very warm and toasty and despite the manufacturers claiming that they are merely 'water resistant' I've never had wet feet yet in any downpours I've been unfortunate to be caught in.
