I couldnt say as lowest ive ridden them in was 2degrees with windchill making it feel like 0 according to weather - they were still toasty on that ride and get very positive reviews on bikeradar etc.I wear merino wool socks too!

I normally don't have a problem being over taken by any creed or colour.. except when they're an 'all the gear no idea type' typically riding a brand new Boardman/Bianchi draped head to toe in DHB clothing for some reason this never fails to get me into race mode.

One of the first times I went out, I was riding my neighbour's Carrera TDF (before I bought it off him), wearing a jersey and shorts that cost £15 each, and wearing my neighbour's old shoes. One of the guys we were with was on a Bianchi, which I've since learned is worth about £800, and was wearing full replica Sky kit. He was utterly hopeless, and I destroyed him on the hills. He's not been out with us since, which is a pity, but he won't practise so he doesn't get any better... I should have twigged when I saw he was using flat pedals and wearing trainers, but I didn't even know to look at that sort of thing back then.

sooo i use flat pedals and wear trainers! do i suck? :D

This happened to me yesterday  I was just coming off a junction taking it really easy getting up to speed, and I hear the faint buzz of MTB tyres and then he comes past me and instantly turns off. No chance to burn him back! fml

If I 100% knew I could burn them off I would have changed direction which I did a month ago but it put me 3 miles out of my way :D
It was worth it though.
