how are the hybrid nodders still wearing their boil-in-the-bag hi vis jackets? saw LOADS of them yesterday and it must have been 22 degrees

Anyone Manchester based want to come on a training ride with me and a few others that are doing an unsupported 300 in June?
Training ride will be at a fairly relaxed pace but with a lot of hills. We're looking at 11th of June for this. Route will be a tweaked version of the below:

Balder than Captain Pickard...
I'm glad I don't live near Manchester, that looks brutal![]()
There's a pair of roubaix fleece type trousers in our drying room this morning. I thought I was bad still wearing arm warmers and light gloves.
Did you route the chain properly over the little tab between the 2 jockey wheels?
I've got that wrong hundreds of times and it makes an annoying rattle![]()

I've done Hathersage and Ringinglow in the opposite direction and it was hard work.
The Skye climb at the start of the route is a belter.
I've been in shorts and a jersey for just over a week now. It's a bit brisk in the mornings, but the evening commutes have been a nice temperature.
Suffering a little today. Had horrible saddle sores for most of the week, and today it looks like I have inherited a 3rd testicle. Really going to have to invest in better shorts I think, I have expensive bibs which I use for my long rides, but I commute in SportsDirect cheapos. Never had it this bad though. Does anyone suffer badly from them?
That looks awesome. I might take you up on that at a different time as I can't do June.
I get them on and off when I've been riding a lot though since changing to the Tioga Spyder saddle it has been a lot better. I commute in pretty rubbish bib shorts but anything longer than 20 miles I'm always in something half-decent. Do you use chamois cream? I tend to use it every day if I'm riding a lot. Sudocrem in my case as it's cheaper and does the same thing.

Yeh, I don't go on any rides without smearing myself in nappy rash cream.
The sores have been a lot recently. Used to be on the inside of my right leg which was bearable. Smack bang on my testicles isn't so much fun. I have been doing a lot of riding lately though, I'll take tomorrow off and see if it helps.
Out of interest, do you take a 2nd pair of shorts to work, and change for the evening commute? or do you use the same pair as in the morning. Wondering if that might be my problem.
Tried to get some elevation in on last night's ride for Strava's everest challenge.. There's just nothing substantial hill wise nearby :/ I did 3 repeats of one hill, 2 of another, and 1 of another hill and still only hit 1600ft. I need about another 10,000 by the end of the month!
Get to Marylebone and take the Chiltern Line to Princes Risborough/High Wycombe. You'll be at the feet of the Chilterns. Plenty hilly round those parts
Easy enough to rack up 3,500ft + over 50miles or so.
That route looks like good fun/torture.. would certainly be tempted if I lived nearer!Anyone Manchester based want to come on a training ride with me and a few others that are doing an unsupported 300 in June?
