I've heard the wheels on the Diverge are very bad so would be worth considering they would need replacing.

I actually saw a Mango Point AR at the weekend at the London Nocturne. Looks pretty nice in the flesh in Orange/black.

The Planet X XLS look pretty good for the money, same with London Road.

Are there any easily detachable pannier racks? Having trouble locating something that isn't very permanent.

I want to be able to put one/take it off at the drop of a hat from my winter bike.

The Mango Point AR had me tempted for a while to be honest. It has some good reviews. So does the Diverge though. The Ridley "gravel" bikes also get good reviews (GCN did a piece on one of the models a while ago). Should be easy enough to find, it's something like "epic gravel ride".

I must admit, I'm tempted by a disc brake Tarmac. But I'm still a bit worried, especially with the potential UCI changes (rounded discs) will anything change in the next year or so?

May have to hand back my grey stripe - I've been on a "find a new way to work" thing this week after Everesting and so this morning I went out my house, flat 200 yds and then straight up a 10% av, max 20% climb and had to have a cheeky stop half way up :( Only 10s of not moving but my first time of not making it up something

I have a quick release pannier rack from tesco (it was on clearance and cost me £2.50)
It does the job pretty well. Probably not as robust as a proper rack mounted to the chainstays but i've had mine loaded with probably around 10kg and it's been solid for rides over 140 miles.

Damn KOM stealers... Out on the hybrid last night doing a few dirt trails in a park. Just checked my ride and many people have done a segment at 60mph+. Parallel to a railway :D

I've just seen a guy cycle past no handed on a mountain bike. One hand was occupied as he was talking on his phone, the other arm was broken. Clearly he didnt learn his lesson the first time...

Mmm, the Roubaix and Diverge look like very nice bikes! Part of me wishes I'd bought a Roubaix over a Tarmac.

I know the main difference of the Diverge is that it can support up to 35mm tyres (nice bonus, especially over the winter) and of course, it's a bit sturdier for off-road adventures. I wonder how well a Roubaix with 28 tyres would run though (comes with 26s standard, probably as clearance for 28s).
That's one of the things steering me towards the Diverge over the Roubaix - the possibility of fitting full guards (SKS Chromo's) on with 28mm tyres. I'm fairly sure things would be too close on the Roubaix, equally the Roubaix is a much more common frame so availability/pricing might be better, in which case I'd hope to run 25mm's and full guards. I've not had a problem running 25mm's on my Defy but the extra comfort and reduction in pinch punctures on pot holes would be welcome (as I seem to get one a month on average at the moment!). Guy I kinda know from around here rides a Tarmac SL4 and also has the Tarmac Disc Module 2015, he puts some damn fast rides in on both! ;)

Yeah there are some incredible PX deals, but I'm always a little cautious about their frames (weight and quality).

There might be changes but I'm betting some compatibility will be retained, at least by SRAM and Shimano in the medium term. It'd do more harm than good to have ANOTHER disc standard!

Report them. Report them all! No shame!

Lethal` are your shifters really irreparable if you cannot get them under guarantee.

Reminded me I need to do some preventative maintenance on Some Campag Ergo levers (~2008 9 speed)
I had looked on campag site last year and failed to save maintenance/adjustment pdf's for these and now site seems redesigned and I cannot find them there or elsewhere.

Does anyone know a place to find such pdf's ? [did not yet try emailing campag]
These have to be the most complex mechanism on bike ? (perhaps electronic shifters excepted)

Does it just fix to the seat tube?

Aha. There's like 30+ people and I'd end up being only 2nd anyway (though a few seconds off so I could certainly take it again...).

I have no idea really. Apparently Shimano shifters aren't really designed to be taken apart. The bike shop yesterday that managed to remove the cable said they could get the spare internals for £100. No call from original bike shop yet :/

Christ that rain was bonkers. Had to stop under a tree for a bit, as visibility was literally a few feet.

Got home and I had to wring out my socks and gloves before going in the house..
and then the sun came back out. Cheers, weather!

Is it on the way, then? It's looking very black in Warrington. I predict it will start to rain the minute I step out of the changing room to ride home.
