was so depressed I just got the tube today, looks even worse tomorrow.

I've been commuting putting like 90% power through just my left leg to let my Achilles tendon heal, managed to get a couple of PRs.

Morvelo 20% off and free delivery with - CYCMAG07

Ordered a jersey for £24. I've heard their stuff is good.
Shame most of their current range are so goddam ugly patterns (that my gran had as curtains and bedsheets)!

20% off doesn't work with the 15% new user code. Still, £60 jersey for £48 is ok, but I also wouldn't pay that for one I wasn't looking at getting anyway! ;)
Is it typical to replace the BB at the same time?
If you're buying the whole groupset many of them will come with a BB anyway? I guess the main question is - why not? Considering the cost of a whole groupset, the BB is tiny. Also depends how worn your bearings are - last thing you wanna do is stick the new cranks on there and find you need to change the BB 3 months later!

It sure is. I want to go out today but it's tropical storm rain :/
I've lost all my get up and go :(

Bunch of wussies! I did a cadence drill on my ride in this morning, pushing a big gear, didn't feel I was at threshold but my HR indicates I pretty much was. Somehow made it in dry too! I'm 3 over par this week (so far).

Such a low mileage week for me (only commutes due to the weather) so I'm in 2 minds what to do for the rest of it. Saturday is totally ruled out (moving some house stuffs) and weather for tomorrow (fri) is looking like it's going to be wet again. I'll still commute but I'll only be at ~44 miles for the week. Think I've got a fairly free pass for sunday so could knock a 50 mile route together for then, get some of my Strava goals completed early, or have an attempt at the Tumble... Hmm!

Dani King, Stage 1 of Aviva womens tour (25mph avg over 85 fairly flat miles).
Mate got 4th in the Cardiff Maindy last night!, my neighbour didn't do as well, not sure why.
Local 10 mile TT was a washout last night, but still another friend came first!. 25.6mph avg in a thunderstorm!
Some random I'm following on Strava also did a 10 mile TT last night. PR. 28 mph avg! Impressive mate! :D

Finally done with utterly tedious ITIL training course...and now I'm off work, woo. Going to try and properly sort out the gearing on my bike and the annoying creak coming from the bottom bracket area during climbing. Not going to get out for a ride until Saturday most likely though.

Sounds horrific some of the material I have read in the past.

Woke up this morning, no rain... awesome.
Brushed teeth and made coffee... torrential rain.
Just about to leave, the rain turns into drizzle... awesome.

Reach the top of my road... torrential rain.
Reach New Street... IT STOPS.

It's only bad because being on a train soaked through sitting on the floor as all the seats are taken is pretty awful. :(

Derby has some sunshine coming through!!

Tumble. Go for it! :)

Edit: coffee after teeth is definitely bad.

Any advice on why my headset seems to keep working loose?

I noticed the other day so tightened it up but within a days riding about it seems to have started rocking again. I do have quite a few bumpy roads that I travel on but wouldn't have thought it should go loose so quickly.

For reference it's a cube peleton pro

Make sure you're torq'ing things up to the required/correct rating.

Personally I torque mine another half nM over the recommended, but I too am reckless! Rawr! Do at your own risk! 6.5 nM for me! ;)

I previously have had it work loose sooner than it should've, like you. I originally used threadlock on it but found little difference, but greasing it seems to hold it tighter for longer.:D:cool:

What exactly is working loose?? The stem bolts or the headset cap bolt?

The cap bold shouldn't really be overly tight to avoid putting excess pressure on the bearings. Its the stem bolts which hold everything in place. Stem bolts are usually torqued to around 6nm.

Recently started getting back in to my cycling, been doing 20 mile rides every other day trying to increase my average speed (15mph) with the aim of joining a local club. Due to the horrendous weather here the past week or so I've not been out at all, it's so depressing :(

Urgh, thunderstorms and torrential rain on the way home today! Had to ride through 1 foot of water several times, lovely.

Pretty bad in the morning also, if I'm gonna die when cycling it'll be by a mother in a bloody 4x4 on the school run in the rain :o
