Were you trying to thread them in the wrong way? Bearing in mind one goes in clockwise and one anti-clockwise? Have you stripped the threads?

Its got a bit weirder now. I've managed to put the original crap peddles onto the bike but for some reason my shimano ones wouldn't go on  The shimano ones have a 'tighten this way' bit on it so i know i was doing it the right way.

Nice little KOM there Benny! Well done!

Ta :) the main climb of that ride (Cat 3) was supposed to be easier than the Cat 2 a few days before being 3% less average over a similar distance (1.8m @ 7%) but the easier sections all had headwind so if anything it felt far harder!

Had made the segment after our first ride at the beginning of the week in case we went back that way. Turns out we did, even though I was pretty spent I figured it was worth a punt as we flew back the following day. Think I spent 3 of those minutes sprinting on the drops

Feeling Benny's pain of the UK roads tonight, take me back to Bavaria!

In other news, my disc appeared to bend in transit so I might as well upgrade if possible.

Currently using the standard discs on my PX London Road (hydraulic).

I think they are 160mm front and back.

Is there any mileage in choosing a different disc this time around?

That aside I've been really impressed with the PX, intended as a winter bike but I can see me using it all through the summer!

This last week has been atrocious. This morning was abysmal. Brightened up this afternoon/evening though and was warm in the sun. Managed to get out on a swift ride before the football.

Are waterproof bib shorts 'a thing'? A quick google doesn't return a huge amount. I see waterproof/resistant arm & leg warmers so figure there must be some out there...

On showery warm days where a full tight would leave me baking shorts would be quite handy. I've a soft shell and shoe covers so having a wet arse isn't the end of a world on a ride 90-120 mins but much longer and it'd need addressing. Has anybody got any or have any experience?

There are certainly water resistant bibs.

Castelli Nanoflex, Rapha Shadow, Sportful Fiandre to name a few :)

I have some waterproof tights to go over a pair of bibs. I think they're made by giordana. Tights are good because you can wear them several days just changing the bibs underneath.

Thanks, will explore these options :)

So the ZMA arrived from the Protein Works. Not going to lie: those random white capsules looks dodgy as **** :p

I saw some mentions of ZMA last week but didn't have enough signal to reply.

Taurine (Amino Acid & Neurotransmitter) is also worth trying to aid recovery & sleep and is cheaper (from memory) than ZMA too. Worth noting that ZMA can lead to particularly vivid and unpleasant dreams but timing can largely affect this.

The only noticeable negative from supplementing Taurine I found was that having slept so deeply and waking abruptly it can take a little longer to shake the morning grogginess. Easily available online from the usual bulk powders/supplements suppliers.

I'm very impressed with the jersey but it's a little on the loose side. Have a feeling when the Large has it's pockets filled it'll sag quite a bit (when it's quite long in the body already). Fabric is very light, feels summery and is meant to be high wicking. How is the fit on the shorts?

Same thought on the jersey. It seems to be for very tall cyclists! I got a Medium and it's too loose/long so I've ordered a Small but I have a feeling it won't be all that much different.

Shorts fit very well and I tested them for 40 miles this morning. It seems like the pad is quite far forward but didn't experience any discomfort anyway.
