Think we'd out do you for wind speeds. Uplands of the central belt is where all the wind farms are for a reason. My house is surrounded by them. Think you'd edge it temp wise though. It's sickening seeing the soft southerners with 20-25 degrees every day when i wore shorts and short sleeves for about the 3rd time this year last night.

You say that, but my 35mile loop has 2 big wind farms presently located on it with another being built and signs all over the palce from locals opposing yet another one. So we are catching you up on monstrosity wind farms as I type! :p:p

You can't beat our windfarms! :D Second largest in Europe in my backyard! :p And 3 weather systems that tend to all hit at the same time - so you genuinely can have a headwind or crosswind pretty much the whole way round our local loop! (can you tell i did the tour at the visitor centre!).

We have a massive loch.
With a bloody monster in it!!!
Get it up ye! :p:p:p

Try being a cyclist in ******* Inverness then you can moan about weather  The permanent 35mph gusting westerly and sub 10 degree's temps as of 4pm every evening.... It's all making me wish armageddon would kick off ASAP and do me a favour :p

I'm relocating to Stirling in a few months. Apprehensive about the weather, especially as I've spent the best part the past year living in Northern Italy

Where I am from originally is 20 miles from Stirling. You are correct to be apprehensive..... I hope you enjoy the rain, because it does rain a good 364 days of the year  In all seriousness, I cannot express how sorry for you I feel due to you actually moving here :( Do you have a choice in this matter? Did you lose the plot recently? :p

Commuted for the first time this year without anything on my arms! Although put a Gilet on and was sweating buckets by the time I got in! Fantastic morning.

Sadly not so warm here but at least it isn't raining. Commuted in the usual shorts + short sleeve top combo and was warm enough though.

Weather for Saturday looks a bit rubbish in the morning - I wonder how many will give up due to the rain :p

Left the house at about 7.15 this morn. Dark, cold and a block headwind all the way to work. Wearing knee warmers, base layer, long sleeve top, gilet and a cap still. I chose a good summer to start this commuting lark....

Gah, just seen the forecast. Grim. I'll be there but I haven't got mudguards fitted at the moment so apologies in advance if I don't get them on by then...

I'll have to see how it's looking, but hey, I've ridden in worse, so I'll probably bite the bullet and come along. Unfortunately the only bike I've got with guards at the moment is my single speed, and 48*18 isn't going to get me up too many hills. My winter bike is in bits - the frame is at the powder coaters and the rest is dotted around my conservatory. I've got an ass saver for my better bike, but that's it!

Hmm.. Maybe I should just remove my mudguards so I can join in the fun of covering everyone behind me with filth? :p

I'm sure we can deal with a bit of splash :) By the looks of things the weather will improve fairly quickly at least.
