But she is just so superb! And she cycles!!

Yes! I think I remember you posting that one before?! Lucky.

she's alright! 6/10 maybe.

Any woman who cycles instantly gets a +5 point bonus.

Her Laugh is another +5 irl :D

I've occasionally seen some Rapha-clad hotties riding around RP. Attractive and good taste in cycle clothing.

The question is do you draft a bit for the view or try to show off by sprinting past them.:D

I remember the London ride ;) all of us just sprinted past lol.

I walked home in the rain (woo) and called by the bike shop on the way back. They showed me the "fixed" brake and the lever pull was still ridiculous - same as before. I said it still feels a bit odd and they came back with an excuse about the throw always being longer on a rear brake due to the longer hose line. Not convinced, I left to come back later once they'd finished. To my happy surprise it was pretty much spot on when I got back to pick it up. They'd also noticed that the Shimano pin on my chain had somehow knackered itself and swapped in a power link for me. I've gone from feeling incredibly ****ed off to pretty happy about getting my bike back :)

Grats buddy! Im possibly gonna have a little go on mine tomorrrow, not doing anything strenuous at all as i have a torn calf which is a shame!

My bike needed the rear spring freeing up as it had seized slightly stopping the spring in the derailleur working properly. Also needed a new cable for that derailleur. My chain might just be a link too short too which is frustrating, itll do but i cant use the biggest two rings, not that i would anyway.

Hopefully its good now for the rest of the year before it needs a new chain again, might even last me into next year now, depends how i handle my pedaling for the rest of this year, might end up doing more than expected, lets see!

If Stages is good enough for Froomie, it's good enough for me! Although he does seem to be sporting a new model which might explain the old ones going on sale.

Needed to get some miles on the best bike done as I've not ridden it for over a week and have 425 miles on it coming up this weekend.

Decided to do a long commute today, weather forecast said rain from 10am so thought I'd be fine but nope, rained from 7am. Still nice ride in, and now I can eat a bacon cob without feeling guilty! https://www.strava.com/activities/340772096

It was that really fine rain so you don't really notice how wet you are. Kept having difficulty seeing when the water mixed in with the sweat in my helmet pads and ran into my eyes!

Think I need to wash my helmet!

It's supposed to be dry for the return journey, keeping my fingers crossed.

Ah, it's forecast for heavy rain this afternoon here. And at lunch, when I need to ride home and pick up the work trousers I forgot to bring. Lycra shorts in the office for the win :p

Your old beaten up trainers really make the picture Paul lol ;)

Sprint. Sprinting is always the answer! ;)

Also you know a girly with full Rapha kit will require some damn pricey handbags to keep her happy!

Its mega money! £1000 for athena eps upgrade. If you are going electronic then the tactile mechanical appeal of campag is somewhat diminished.

It is a shame that it is so expensive. I'd love to give it a try at some point. I've never actually tried electronic shifting, apart from in a LBS. £1.2k for the Record upgrade kit for me. :(

Had the mist on my lenses and rode straight into a tree branch I couldn't see earlier! Damn that rain!

had a look last night, a chorus EPS gruppo costs the same as a super record mechanical

ouch!

Hey guys, ive got the Ridelondon 100 event at the beginning of August, i need some new Bib Shorts, my old pair were from Cycle-Clothing-uk, they are now literally falling apart.

Have any of your tried Fat Lad at the Back bib shorts? Any good? Any other recomendations for Bib shorts for a 44" waist, 6 foot 5" tall with rugby player physique chap?

Strava flyby them and ask them out at a later stage?

weather forecast said rain from 10am so thought I'd be fine but nope, rained from 7am.

Yup - similar weather timings predicted here. Thankfully the rain wasn't too bad but it still slowed me right down. That and laziness.

Rain forecast here 9-10 and maybe some after lunch... Should mean I miss it! It did rain some overnight and this morning was really overcast so felt cold, once I got riding (leg warmers) it was warm & muggy. Sun came out at 8:45 and looks like the rain might hold off... Fingers crossed!

And at lunch, when I need to ride home and pick up the work trousers I forgot to bring. Lycra shorts in the office for the win :p

One of the reasons I leave my trousers at work and have a 'changeover day' :p

I'm so bad at remembering I don't trust myself to take the dirty pair home and bring the clean ones in the next morning.

For those interested in lycra repair options...

A couple of weeks back one of the straps of my saddlebag came undone and the velcro rubbed the leg of my shorts while I was riding. I had a hole and rough area on the shorts - probably very similar to road damage to the fabric.

I read online about 'Pronty patches' which are a sticky-back nylon patch. They're listed as waterproof and stretchable and very affordable! I'd heard of glues and being able to send shorts away for repair. As mine were relatively inexpensive Northwave Logo's (£50) I guessed it wasn't cost effective to send them away (unsure if Northwave even offer this service). Glue wasn't really an option as the damage is quite a large area and with shorts there's not really any 'spare' fabric I could double over the damaged area.

The instructions with Pronty are simple, just cut to shape with scissors and avoid having any corners. Below you can see the one edge of my patch along with the damaged area on the shorts:

You have to be quite smooth with your scissors but the nylon material used is very easy to cut. It's nice and flexible and the hardest part was removing the backing (as you should have no corner to peel it from!). The 'Black' I ordered is quite shiny and not really a close match to the matt black of my shorts material. But as the damage is on the inner leg I'm not too worried about how it looks. Obviously fall damage will be in more obvious places so you may have to get inventive with your shapes/sizes. I guess you could even stick on the underside of the area.

I pressed the patch on and placed it on a table with a heavy fruit bowl on top overnight (probably not required).

I'm wearing these shorts for commuting (a test!) and they did get a little rained on yesterday. Today I had leg warmers under them and they rubbed my saddle slightly. Patch is still good and surviving well! The edges are slightly raised so will continue to monitor it.

I would highly recommend these Pronty repairs. They're an inexpensive, easy repair on a garment which would otherwise be binned/retired. Your hardest problem will be matching colour as the Black is not that close to the matt black of most lycra. For most areas they will not have much contact with other surfaces so should last a long time, my inner leg area will rub slightly so I'm going to see how long it lasts.
