I have a Giro Air Attack Shield. I got it for TTing because I prefer looking through a visor than sunglasses when getting aero. I have since got a Kask Bambino for TTing so it doesn't get used as much now.

It does look a bit silly, proper mushroom head and though originally marketed as aero is actually less aero than the new Giro Synthe!

For £88 though it's not bad I guess.

omg !
and I thought my Cannondale CX 105 at £900 was good value !

Same with my Defy 1 2015 105! :/

It's an Alfine hub gear. It's 11 speed (11, not 22), it's heavy, changing wheels is a faff, and it's really designed for touring, not racing or sportives or whatever.

So yeah, it's a bargain, but it's not the Di2 you're thinking of.

puts my mind at ease now :D

how much is full di2 anyway?

Jeez, you make even me feel fat!

You're just normal :P

I don't have scales anymore but I weighed myself dressed at my parents the other night and was 12 stone 3(5' 11") so lighter than I've been in a while.

Raced down from Oban tonight to try and meet the bunch but got here a bit late due to tourists and about a million road works. Crap weather for it and I never did catch them so just headed home.

When my front tyre punctured the other day (looked like another tube failure rather than a puncture but anyway...) I replaced it with the Michelin one that came free with my tyres and the front of the bike now feels noticeably... better.

Is this because;

1) The Michelin butyl tube is better than the cheap as chips Airwave "super value" that it replaced?

2) An 18-25mm tube rides better than a 25-32mm tube in a 25mm tyre? or...

3) I'm a mentalist and it is all in my head?

I often find that a new tube feels noticeably better than a punctured tube. I'm not sure exactly what it is.
Maybe it is just all in our heads ;)

:D Steering was a little off with the punctured one!

Hmm... I'll try the other Michelin one in the back and see how it feels.

A friend of mine took his mrs out for her first ride in about 20 years the other day...

(10:25:44 AM) Stuart *****: She said she found the speed quite exhilarating at one point.
(10:26:10 AM) Stuart *****: Top speed, 9.4 kmh

edit: Fixed all the damn autocorrect typos in his message.

Little speed freak!

John Connor: I could get out and run faster than this!

xD

I went faster up a hill yesterday with a torn calf! Haha.

I keep both at 110psi and then pump back up as it gets spoongy/soft over weeks.

I pop 120 in mine every two weeks.
