Gave the bike it's first proper ride last night.
https://www.strava.com/activities/355328968 Just a short 25 mile after work solo ride.

Felt really good, couple of little bits to adjust, but on the whole it's been well worth the frameswop, handles so much better. Acceleration is instant & it really holds the speed well.

Looking forward to getting a few of my old KOM's back :D

Need to get myself a better bike or frame! Shame I'm financially ruined :)

Weather is ****ing pish up here still but I'm still planning on getting out with the bunch with a workmate.

Will see how it goes but I'm going prepared with winter kit on.

Yup, looking fairly horrendous again. I'll be there with my duffle coat on.

Edit: Actually, btr or Bundy?

Not great weather here but it's not awful for the most part, aside from a 10 minute extremely heavy shower just when I happen to be out riding at lunch, gah :/

I managed to do the Haugh Wood climb in 10:06 so I am sure you could smash 15 minutes easily!

I just saw your newly designed route and it looks great. I may try it this summer.

Haha yeah, although I think I'll be doing well if I get near to your 10 minute time...! ;)

The route was only a quick mess, I'll probably plan it a little better and do the Dorstone hill section differently as on the one I did there's a good climb (seeing elevation) near the Bache I'll do the other way (ie climb it not descend it!).

should we as cyclists throw bricks at cars from the bridges then? just to see if anyone gets one in the face? for the LOLS HAHAAA NEW CHALLENGE GUYS/..:rolleyes:

New challenge - see how many wingmirrors we can smash on the way past? ;)

Noticed this cut on my rear tyre sidewall last night...

Tyres have only done 350 miles :(

Something odd is going on there. The ride lasted 5 hours 10 mins.

My guess from looking at the times and streetview is that he cycled to the tennis courts from work (14mph average). Spent 1hr 30mins there and then cycled home. He spend 30mins at home and then drove to the petrol station and then to Aldi (22mph average). He spent 30mins doing a shop before driving home for his tea.

lol

(I've not seen the strava link though)

Oh joy, I've got a chest infection. Probably best to hold off riding this week...

Are you Chris Froome?

Unlucky - but on the bright side still better going than the 10 miles I got from the tyre before my current set.

Yeah, guess my options are fairly limited - bin or bodge.

By bodge I was thinking a section of old inner tube glued to the inside of the tyre and then just pray I don't get another puncture in the same place? Would also gluing the cut together work? Just use normal puncture repair glue or something like superglue?

My 'spare' tyres are either old 23mm pro4e's (would swap my good 25mm to the rear and run the 23mm on front) or to put on 1 of my GP4Seasons I was saving till the autumn... Would hate to run mismatched tyres so will probably swap both...

Went out but nobody was there. When I was heading back up I saw a chap on a Focus but I doubt any more would have been going.

Ended up getting a few local short KOMs though. Buried myself for the last one, was in the 52-12 for all off it :D

Nice! Better not let Ross find out! :D

On a related topic - on 6800 can I just straight swap the 50 for a 52? I've been struggling for a gear at times on the fastest bits of the half nine bunch when we've got a tail wind.
